Top 5 BEST Borderlands 3 Legendary Weapons

This Top 5 Best Borderlands 3 Legendary Weapons Guide will teach players where to find 5 of the best legendary weapons in Borderlands 3.

If you’re playing Borderlands 3 and getting toward the endgame or starting on your long, epic quest to perfect your character build, you’re going to be looking to collect all the best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons..

There are tons and tons of Borderlands 3 legendary weapons. While several guns are better for specific characters and builds than some guns on this list, generally speaking these are the top 5 best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons you’re going to want to get first that are useful on every character.

For example, the Recursion is a pretty good legendary for most characters, but on Amara it’s easily a top tier gear option. So it’s not on this list because it’s a very Amara-specific gun.

Without further ado, let’s get into the list of the Top 5 Best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons.

1. Rowan’s Call/Lucian’s Call

As far as assault rifles go, Rowan’s Call and Lucian’s Call are easily the best and most versatile assault rifles in the game. They come in a variety of elemental variants and they’re staples in terms of the best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons.

The reason I combine them into one entry is that Rowan’s Call and Lucian’s Call are essentially the same gun with the same special legendary effect, which causes every crit to return ammo to your backpack and ricochet two bullets to nearby enemies.

This is a world drop, making it somewhat difficult and random to acquire. However, it’s believed that Red Rain and Blue Fire have an increased chance to drop Rowan’s Call and Lucian’s Call respectively.

Not only is this a great weapon on its own, it has synergies with most endgame character builds. For example, its elemental affinities benefit Amara and its reward for crits benefits Fl4k.

2. The Cutsman

The Cutsman is an SMG that’s considered at this point to be a staple of most people’s loadouts. It does a tremendous amount of damage and pierces through enemies, allowing you to clear out multiple enemies that are clumped together at once. The gimmick of this weapon is that it fires two shots connected by a laser and when it strikes an enemy, they simply melt.

It’s a top tier gun and one of the many reasons it’s so popular is that it’s a very easy farm. It comes from the unique mob Borman Nates, who’s on top of an easily accessible platform in the Meridian Outskirts, which is the first area of Promethea.

It comes in Shock/Corrosive/Fire variants and if you’re looking for a weapon to help you farm for other weapons, Cutsman is going to be your best option.

Highly recommend this be the first endgame gun you farm for simply because it’ll make farming for additional guns that are more specific to your build that much easier, as it’s very easy to acquire. Easily ranks among the best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons.

3. King’s Call/Queen’s Call

King’s Call and Queen’s Call are essentially identical pistols that drop off Tyreen. The only difference is the elemental varieties that the two guns come in. Queen’s Call comes in Radiation, Cryo and Corrosive varieties, whereas the King’s Call comes in Shock and Fire.

Its legendary ability is very similar to Rowan’s/Lucian’s Call except a little bit better. Instead of returning 2 ammo per shot and ricocheting 2 bullets, it returns 3 and ricochets 3. Its magazine is really small, so you only get 2 shots before reloads.

However, if you’re fighting bosses with easily targeted weak points, you’ll never reload — you’ll just keep firing. The reason it’s not as sought after as Rowan’s Call is it’s not as versatile. Where you can use Rowan’s Call for mobbing or anything else, Queen/King’s Call is mostly useful for quickly melting bosses like Graveward and Tyreen herself, who have phases where they go stationary and reveal their crit point.

The Tyreen fight is kind of annoying since she goes invincible multiple times, but other than that it’s not a terribly difficult farm and the payoff is huge. It shouldn’t take you too long to acquire one or both of these guns because having the gun basically be its own duplicate means it appears twice in the loot pool, giving a great chance for at least one of the weapon varieties to drop.

4. The Lob

top 5 best borderlands 3 legendary weapons

I used to have The Maggie in this position, but these days I have to say The Lob is one of the best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons, one of the easiest legendaries to get, and should definitely be one of the very first max-level legendaries you farm on pretty much any character.

This thing trivializes almost all content and it holds its weight well into Mayhem 4. It drops from Graveward, who you’re likely to be farming anyway, so honestly, you’ll probably just have like 5 of these in your inventory anyway, even if you’re not looking for them.

The Lob used to be so bad that it was a joke, but now it just melts enemies. The way it works is it shoots out 3 slow moving orbs that repeatedly and rapidly deal damage in an AoE around them. The orbs don’t really seem to do any direct impact damage.

It’s a little glitchy so sometimes enemies aren’t affected even though they seem to be inside the orb AoE, but most of the time it works like it’s supposed to and when it does work, enemies just die.

It does so much damage so fast it’ll melt anything that’s able to be targeted by the slow bullets. Not very good for high mobility targets, flying targets, or far away targets, but anything in medium/close range gets wrecked.

5. Lyuda

This is a legendary sniper rifle and it is just wacky as hell, and it’s super easy to get since it’s 100% guaranteed. No relying on luck. All you have to do is beat all of Zer0’s hunt side quests and he’ll send you a Lyuda in the mail.

What makes this thing so good? Its damage is insane, since it’s a sniper rifle, but its bullets also split into 3, which means it does 3x damage. In addition, its rate of fire is basically SMG speed and it has almost no recoil. It tends to oneshot most regular enemies and kill bosses with just a single clip if you’re hitting their weak points.

While you’re guaranteed one Lyuda, it’s also available as a world drop and it’s in the dedicated drop pool for Tremendous Rex if you’re looking for more. Its power makes it one of the best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons.

Conclusion – Best Borderlands 3 Legendary Weapons

If you’re looking for the best Borderlands 3 legendary weapons you can’t go wrong with any of the guns on this list. These guns are good for every character and have held their utility through numerous updates of the game.
