Persona 5 Royal Ryuji Persona Guide & Best Build

If you’re playing Persona 5 Royal, you’ll want to know what skills Ryuji can learn from his Persona, as well as which ones are most worthwhile to keep. This guide will help make sure that your Ryuji is the best Ryuji he can be and is taking full advantage of his persona at the end of the game.

Persona 5 Royal Ryuji Persona Evolutions

Like every other character in the game, Ryuji has 3 different evolutions for his Persona: Captain Kidd, Seiten Taisei and William.

Captain Kidd is received at the start of the game, when Ryuji awakens his persona in Kamoshida’s Palace.

Captain Kidd is upgraded to Seiten Taisei when Ryuji’s Chariot Confidant is maxed out to level 10. Seiten Taisei also gains the Evade Wind ability.

Finally, Ryuji’s final Persona, William, is obtained by speaking with Ryuji during the bonus semester in January. William gains the skill Fighting Spirit, which grants charge to the entire party, and his trait is upgraded to Eccentric Temper, which has a chance of boosting any ally’s damage by 80% whenever they attack.

Ryuji’s Best Endgame Build

Ryuji, like everyone else, has 8 skills to pick from, and you want to make sure you have the best build possible. The top tier skills are:

God’s HandZiodyne
AgneyastraMaziodyne
MatarukajaShock Boost
Fighting SpiritElec Boost

Swift Strike used to be better than Agneyastra in vanilla Persona 5, but that’s no longer the case in Royal. You could delete Ziodyne for Evade Wind if you like, but it’s not really necessary. It’s up to you whether having the choice between single and multi-target spells or the ability to evade wind magic (which you rarely encounter) is better.

For his accessory, I highly recommend the Ring of Greed, which grants the skill President’s Insight, allowing Ryuji to cast Concentrate on your main character, making him the best support buffer available.
