If you’re playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you’ll want to know where to get all of the weapons for Aerith and which ones are worth using. Some are balanced, some are more geared toward magic, and a few have unique abilities. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about weapons for Aerith in Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Guard Stick – Final Fantasy 7 Remake Aerith Weapons
The Guard Stick is Aerith’s default weapon. She comes equipped with it when she joins your party in Chapter 8.
Arcane Ward – Any attack spells cast while standing on the ward go off twice.
Arcane Ward is one of the best abilities in the game, for sure. Even if only Aerith was able to take advantage of it, it would be one of the best abilities in the game, but other parties are able to double their damage output in the ward as well. Aerith’s nukes already do major damage, and getting double damage for no additional MP or ATB cost is pretty wild. I definitely recommend taking advantage of this ability heavily. It’s great from the moment you get to and throughout the post-game.
You get a proficiency bonus for this ability every time you cast it. Very easy to master.
Guard Stick is a nice weapon for Aerith because it gives her significant defensive bonuses without sacrificing too much magic power. 650 HP, +5% elemental damage reduction and +7 to both defenses. Other than that, it’s fairly balanced. Some nice MP bonuses (but not the best), a modest 10% MP regeneration bonus. Not her best weapon, but not bad either.
Silver Staff – Final Fantasy 7 Remake Aerith Weapons
You can buy this weapon from the Moogle Merchant in Chapter 8. If you need more Moogle Medals, just do Whack-a-Box a few times.
Sorcerous Storm – Deals light damage in a small AoE around Aerith.
I found this ability to be pretty much useless. It’d be cool if it knocked enemies really far away from Aerith and stunned them, but it doesn’t do that. It just does a relatively small amount of AoE damage. You could just cast Fira or something and probably be better off. There are much better ways to spend your ATB bar.
To master this skill you have to hit 3 or more enemies with it. It’s actually kind of a chore. You have to be in a battle with 3+ enemies, get them clumped together and then run into the crowd with Aerith and cast this.
In my opinion, this is Aerith’s best weapon by a huge margin. Not when you get it. When you get it, it’s kind of weak. But later in the game and on Hard Mode, this is just undeniably the best, mostly due to its MP Reduction and MP Regeneration nodes. You can’t refill MP on Hard Mode and keeping this weapon equipped lets you continue using Aerith as a mage, because her MP refills relatively quickly and her MP costs are so cheap. Its magic attack power is nothing to sneeze at either. It’s the 3rd most powerful staff, but the 2nd most powerful staff only has 11 more points of magic damage. That difference is made up for with this weapons +5% elemental damage. Gives some bonus HP as well (+350).
Arcane Scepter – Final Fantasy 7 Remake Aerith Weapons
You get the Arcane Scepter from one of the two Arena side quests in Chapter 9 in Wall Market. You either face off against two bombs or a special Cutter, depending on your choices up to that point.
Fleeting Familiar – Aerith conjures a little wisp that attacks enemies sometimes.
This is an alright ability. You only have to cast it once per battle and it gives Aerith a nice little damage bonus. Nothing to write home about, but it’s only one ATB bar per battle and it increases Aerith’s overall effectiveness. Usually worth casting.
To master this ability, cast it and then trigger its attacks by casting some other abilities.
This one’s… not great. It’s almost exactly the same as the Silver Staff in terms of its node bonuses, except it doesn’t get as many MP skills and it’s weaker by a huge margin. It does get an Elemental Damage materia bonus, which the Silver Staff doesn’t get, but let’s face it — there are only two Elemental materia in the game, and you’re not using them on Aerith unless she’s your only other party member. Even then, the bonus doesn’t make up for how lacking this weapon is in general.
Mythril Rod – Final Fantasy 7 Remake Aerith Weapons
The Mythril Rod is found in the Train Graveyard in Chapter 11. It’s in a Purple Chest in the outdoor portion before you go into the warehouse with all the ghosts. It’s not hidden, it’s pretty easy to spot.

Ray of Judgment – Aerith shoots out a beam of light that constantly damages enemies for 2 ATB segments.
This ability does a lot of damage. It’s one of Aerith’s best abilities for sure. If you want to do significant damage with Aerith without expending MP, this is the skill for you. The only downside of this skill is that it doesn’t follow enemies like Maximum Fury does, so mobile enemies can move away from it. Great for melting Staggered enemies. You’ll get a lot of use out of this skill.
To get the proficiency bonus for this ability, use it on a Staggered enemy.
The Mythril Rod is the magic nuke weapon. The amount of damage you can deal with Aerith’s spells while wielding this weapon is extreme, especially in combination with an Arcane Ward. Unfortunately, raw magic power is the only thing with weapon gets. It gets a piddling amount of HP and MP, but other than that, almost every node is a magic power node. The Silver Staff is the better weapon 99% of the time, in my opinion. It’s way more versatile. Definitely learn the Ray of Judgment skill, though. That skill is great.
Bladed Staff – Final Fantasy 7 Remake Aerith Weapons
You steal this weapon from Eligor at the end of Chapter 11. It’s the only thing worth stealing in the entire game, so make sure you drag that Steal materia out of the dustbin for this fight and then you can retire it forever afterwards.
Lustrous Shield – Creates a little barrier in front of the target that deals a small amount of damage to enemies that run into it.
Lustrous Shield is alright. It’s not useless. You can cast it a bunch of times on multiple characters and fill the battlefield with them. It doesn’t do much damage, but it outputs a little bit of hitstun. Usually it’s better to just blow enemies up instead of investing time in summoning a bunch of these, and they’re not very effective in large battlefields where most boss fights take place, but it’s a pretty interesting little skill.
To master this skill you just need to have enemies bounce off it a couple of times. You can do this in one fight by just summoning a bunch of them.
This weapon is… extremely bad. You’ll notice I have 110 unspent skill points for this weapon in the screenshot above. That’s because it doesn’t have very many nodes worth spending skill points on. It does give a pretty hefty HP bonus (850) and some nice MP, as well as 13 defense, but its magic stat is very low for Aerith. It gives some crit chance and crit bonus which is kind of whatever for Aerith. It’s sort of a defense-oriented weapon more than anything else. You can almost view it as a worse version of the Guard Stick.
Reinforced Staff – Final Fantasy 7 Remake Aerith Weapons
The Reinforced Staff is in a purple chest in the room you start Chapter 17 in. It’s really hard to miss.

ATB Ward – Lays down a ward that refunds some ATB to party members who use skills on it.
This isn’t terribly useful. It costs 2 ATB bars, which is way too much for the effect it has, it doesn’t work for Aerith herself, and having melee party members make use of this ward is really difficult since they’re always so mobile. It’d be better to just spend that 2 ATB casting Haste on your party members.
You master this skill by using it a couple of times. Easy.
The Reinforced Staff gets the second highest magic power of Aerith’s weapons, as well as high Magic Defense and a little bit of HP and MP. If you like the balanced, defensive nature of the Guard Stick but want to trade in a little bit of that defensive utility for slightly higher Magic Power, the Reinforced Staff would be the choice for you. Personally, I don’t think it’s a great tradeoff. The Silver Staff has more HP, more MP, comparable magic damage, and a ton of MP regeneration. 13 Magic Defense isn’t worth the trade.
