Best Chrono Trigger Characters Tier List
Overview – Chrono Trigger Robo
In Chrono Trigger Robo is among the best party members in the game. He’s capable of providing full-party healing, damage from 3 different elements (Shadow, Fire and Light), and strong physical damage. Altogether, he’s probably the 3rd best party member in the game and you should definitely consider using him as a mainstay in your go-to Chrono Trigger party.
Best Equipment – Chrono Trigger Robo
If you’re using Robo in Chrono Trigger, you’re absolutely going to want to track down all of his best equipment and make good use of it. For Robo in particular, his best equipment really makes a big difference in terms of his effectiveness, because his best weapons have unique secondary effects that change the way he plays.
Like with most other characters, when it comes to the best equipment, you’re looking for 4 things:
- The best weapon
- Innate status immunity
- Auto-Haste
- Damage bonus
Knowing that, the best equipment you’re going to find for Robo will be this:
- Best Weapon: Apocalypse Arm
- Best Helmet: Haste Helm
- Best Armor: Nova Armor
- Best Accessory: Dragon’s Tear
The Apocalypse Arm is very similar to Ayla’s Bronze Fist, except you can get it much, much earlier. Like the Bronze Fist, the Apocalypse Arm deals 9999 damage on crits. Since it doesn’t provide any additional attack power, when you have this equipped, your Robo’s physical attacks are extraordinarily weak except when he’s able to crit. So you’re going to want to equip the Dragon’s Tear to make that happen more often.
Also, since Robo’s damage outside of crits is going to be abysmal, there’s no need to equip the Prism Spectacles or any other damage-boosting equipment. You want the Nova Armor for status immunity and the Haste Helm for Auto-Haste.
Best Equipment Locations – Chrono Trigger Robo
Apocalypse Arm – Chrono Trigger Robo Best Weapon
The Apocalypse Arm is found in the Dimensional Vortex in 2300 A.D. during the final, futuristic map of the area. In the southeast corner of the area with lots of conveyor belts, you can go through the wall to reach a forest area similar to the forest map in the Lost Sanctum. The Apocalypse Arm is in a chest in that area.
Haste Helm – Chrono Trigger Robo Best Helmet
Two Haste Helms can be acquired in the Black Omen. One from a chest and the other from Charming the Lavos Spawn towards the end.
In the DS version and all the later versions of the game, another can be acquired by Charming the Alabaster Shade in the Antiquity Vortex.
Nova Armor – Chrono Trigger Robo Best Armor
There are lots of places to find Nova Armors. The first time you encounter one is from the black chest in the Hero’s Tomb in the Middle Ages. There’s another one in a chest in the Black Omen. You can Charm Fangbeasts in the second room of the Black Omen for an infinite supply.
Dragon’s Tear – Chrono Trigger Robo Best Accessory
The Dragon’s Tear is obtained by defeating all the monsters in the forest area of the Lost Sanctum in the Prehistoric Area. It’s the very first Lost Sanctum reward, given by a grateful reptite.
