Overview & Review- Yakuza Like a Dragon Gangster Job

yakuza like a dragon gangster

Zhao’s unique Yakuza Like a Dragon Gangster job is very strong at every point in the game. In the mid-game, it excels with powerful attacks that can also inflict stun, and in the late game it gets a ton of utility out of both its powerful target-all physical attacks and its fire/bladed single target saber attack.

In terms of classic RPG archetypes, Hitman is most similar to a Fighter/Rogue.

Gangster is a strong, fast job that has access to both great bladed attacks and exceptional blunt attacks. It gains a fair amount of Attack bonuses as it levels, and it’s capable of inflicting useful status effects, most notably stun.

There’s not too much to be said about Gangster. It’s purely a damage-dealing class and provides almost no utility whatsoever. However, in terms of dealing damage, it does its job and it does it well. You can expect Zhao to pull his weight from the moment you get him right through to the end of the game with the Gangster job assigned.

Yakuza Like a Dragon Gangster Best Weapon

The best weapon for the Yakuza Like a Dragon Hitman job is called the Curved Crystal Saber EX EX. Like all the best weapons, it’s obtained by upgrading a low level base weapon at the Romance Workshop in the Commercial District in Ijincho.

The base weapon you need is the Master’s Saber, which you can buy at the Kai Xin Specialty Store in Chinatown in Ijincho for 230,000.

To finish upgrading the weapon, you need a Liu Chinese Saber, which you can win from the 5th Floor of the Sotenbori Battle Arena or you can buy at Le Marche in Kamurocho for 10 million yen.

Yakuza Like a Dragon Gangster Accessory

The Job Experience accessory for the Yakuza Like a Dragon Gangster Job is pretty easy to obtain. It’s called the Worldly Cigar. You can get one from Substory 24 and you can buy as many as you’d like from the secret shop in the far Southwest corner in Ijincho’s Commercial District (Demolition skill required).

Since you can obtain multiple Worldly Cigars, Gangster is able to equip two at once to boost its job experience by 2x.

Character Skills – Yakuza Like a Dragon Gangster Job

Every job in Yakuza Like a Dragon has two specific Character Skills, which, once learned, can be used by that character no matter which job class they’ve been assigned.

For the Gangster job, the character skills are:

Shell Shatter: Damage an enemy with a palm heel strike that could shatter a turtle god’s shell. May lower the enemy’s Defense.

Drunken Tiger Fist: Damage an enemy with a strike that resembles a drunken tiger. The drunker Zhao is, the more likely he’ll land a critical hit.

Neither one of the Gangster job’s Character Skills are very compelling. Shell Shatter is a decent attack for mid-game, and Drunken Tiger Fist is powerful, but situational.

The only times you’re going to find yourself drunk are immediately after drinking at a restaurant and very rarely as a consequence of enemy attacks. Neither situation is common, so you won’t get too much use out of Drunken Tiger Fist.
