Overview & Review- Yakuza Like a Dragon Night Queen Job

yakuza like a dragon night queen

The Yakuza Like a Dragon Night Queen job does significant single target damage and most of its skills inflict the powerful Brainwashed status effect, which causes enemies to attack each other.

In terms of classic RPG archetypes, Night Queen is most similar to a Rogue.

While the Night Queen deals great single target damage and has a few skills that attack an area, what it lacks is any kind of target-all attack, or area of effect Essence-level attack skill. That means Night Queen is a lot better in the early game and the midgame than it is towards the end, where powerful Essence-level screen clearing attacks are the bread and butter of the battlefield.

It gains a ton of HP and Attack bonuses, which are useful, especially when swapped over to a Matriarch or Eri’s unique Clerk Job. Unfortunately, if you don’t have the Matriarch DLC, Saeko doesn’t have much of an option for physical damage except the Night Queen job, which is kind of a third tier job overall, especially when you open it up to comparison with all of the physical damage jobs the male classes get access to.

Overall, Night Queen is a decent job, but not mindblowing, and its effectiveness starts to fall off as you get into the late-game.

Yakuza Like a Dragon Night Queen Best Weapon

The best weapon for the Yakuza Like a Dragon Night Queen job is called the Whip of Pleasure EX EX. Like all the best weapons, it’s obtained by upgrading a low level base weapon at the Romance Workshop in the Commercial District in Ijincho.

The base weapon you need is the Sadistic Whip, which you can buy from Love Magic in the Ijincho Red Light District for 500,000 yen.

To finish upgrading the weapon, you need a Electric Whip, which you can win repeatedly from the 26th Floor of the Sotenbori Battle Arena.

Yakuza Like a Dragon Night Queen Accessory

The Job Experience accessory for the Yakuza Like a Dragon Night Queen Job is pretty easy to obtain. It’s called the Ecstasy Rope. You can get one from Substory 24. Unfortunately, there’s only one Ecstasy Rope available in the game, so the Night Queen job can only boost its Job Experience up 1.5x.

Character Skills – Yakuza Like a Dragon Night Queen Job

Every job in Yakuza Like a Dragon has two specific Character Skills, which, once learned, can be used by that character no matter which job class they’ve been assigned.

For the Night Queen job, the character skills are:

Somersault Leg: Damage a single enemy and any enemies around them with a forceful kick. May leave the enemies brainwashed.

Candle Rush: Deal fire damage to an enemy and any enemies around them with a barrage of melting wicks and wax that may, as one would imagine, leave them burned.

Somersault Leg is an alright skill. Brainwashing is one of the stronger status effects to inflict on enemies and it affects an area. However, it doesn’t do much damage so its utility falls off in late game where you’re really better off just blasting through enemies with powerful Essence skills.

Candle Rush is the main fire elemental damage skill available to females, but unfortunately it’s difficult to make a functional female mage even though Saeko’s Barmaid skill gets a ton of +Magic bonuses. Females have no access to the lightning element and none of their magic spells hit all enemies, so magic tends to go to waste for Saeko and Eri.
