
This Tales of Arise Artifacts Guide will explain where to get each of the Tales of Arise artifacts and what each artifact does.
If you’re playing Tales of Arise, you’re eventually going to want to collect each of the Tales of Arise artifacts, special items with unique properties like dramatically increased experience and SP rewards from every battle. There are 23 Tales of Arise artifacts total and you’re going to want to know the location and purpose of every one of them.
In addition to providing powerful bonuses, the Tales of Arise artifacts also unlock a new skill tree for Dohalim, so you’ll be scouring Tales of Arise for that reason as well.

Finally, the Tales of Arise artifacts are all where all of your New Game+ bonuses come from, so if you’re going to be enjoying a second round of playing through Tales of Arise, you’ll be needing to collect the several post-game artifacts related to New Game+.

1. Crocodile Crusher – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Arte Set + 1
This allows you to equip another set of Artes on the Artes menu that you can use in battle by holding LT (or the equivalent button for your system)
Location
Acquired as part of the main story in the Mount Dhiara area.
Original Source
The Crocodile Crusher comes from Bandai Namco’s original GATOR PANIC arcade game, which is a classic arcade game where you try to whack gators on the snout with a soft mallet.
2. Devil Sculpture – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Added Chaos Difficulty
Adds a new difficulty mode called “Chaos Difficulty” to the options menu, above Hard Difficulty.
Location
Acquired by beating Dohalim’s “Ultimate” Solo Battle in the Training Grounds.

The Devil Sculpture is a sculpture of Devil Jin from Tekken 7.
3. Blade of Sealing – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
1 Damage
Converts all damage output to 1 damage. Has to be turned on manually.
Location
Collected from a chest at the far west side of Adan Lake.

The Blade of Sealing is Nightmare’s sword, the Soul Edge, from Soul Calibur.
4. Hellmask Fiend Skull – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Reckless Abandon
100% more damage dealt and received.
Location
Acquired by beating Dohalim’s “Advanced” Solo Battle at the Training Grounds.

The Hellmask Fiend Skull appears to be Anubis’s skull from God Eater 3.
5. Mechanical Doll Accessory – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Off the Radar
Makes you undetectable to enemies.
Location
After defeating Chronos, the final boss of the post-game dungeon, you can collect this artifact from a chest behind him.

The Mechanical Doll Accessory is KOS-MOS’s visor from Xenosaga.
6. Silver Suit of Armor – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
EXP Boost
Boosts EXP gained in battle by 20%.
Location
You get this by finishing the quest chain involving the soldier from Adan Lake and the woman from Thistlym. First you need to complete “Missing Lover”, available in Thistlym. This quest requires you to talk to a soldier at Adan Lake. Then, later, complete “Their Future” in Pelegion level 3.

7. Golden Suit of Armor – Tales of Arise Artifacts

Super EXP Booster
Boosts EXP gained from battle by 80%.
Location
You get this by completing the “Spirit Temple” quest, which becomes available in Traslida Highway after The Wedge appears. After getting to the end of the Earth Spirit Temple in the Tietal Plain and defeating the Grand Gnome, you’ll get this artifact as a quest reward.

8. Lucky Cat Statue – Tales of Arise Artifacts

Boosts SP gained in battle by 20%.
Location
Finish the quest “Echoes” available in Niez, which requires you to revisit the Esta Luvah Forest and return to the boss room where you fight a new miniboss.

9. Golden Lucky Cat Statue – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Super SP Boost
Boosts SP gained in battle by 80%.
Location
You get this by finishing the quest “Untamable Rage” which becomes available in Thistlym after The Wedge appears. There will be a new area open in Shinefall Woods at the southern end of the map. Go through the dungeon and defeat the (very difficult) boss to access a hidden fishing point and finish the quest. The artifact is the quest reward.

10. Drums of the Master – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Combat Point Boost
Boosts Combat Points gained in battle by 20%.
Location
Found in a chest located in the Waterfall Basin in Aureum Falls. At the end of the map there’s a place to drop down. Fall all the way to the bottom, climb the long ladder to the top, and you’ll find the Drums of the Master in a chest in this new area.

11. Drum of the Legend – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Super Combat Point Boost
Boosts Combat Points gained in battle by 80%.
Location
Finish the quest “Farewell, Mage” that becomes available in Niez after The Wedge appears. This requires you to climb to the top of the tower in the Mount Dhiara Ridge and complete an epic boss fight.

12. Glutton’s Maze – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Cooking Effect Boost 1
Makes the effects of recipes last 10% longer.
Location
Finish the third side quest from the reoccurring traveling gourmet, titled “Gourmet Saga: Prairie Scent” available in Aqfotle Hills. He needs Lettuce, Lemons and Apples. In order for this quest to appear, you need to finish the previous two quests in Menancia and Cyslodia.

13. Glutton’s Code – Tales of Arise Artifacts

Cooking Effect Boost 2
Makes the effects of recipes last 30% longer.
Location
Finish the quest “Global Connection” available in Mosgul. This is part of the gourmet questline and requires you to finish all the previous quests up through the quest in Pelegion. After accepting the quest, take Wheat and Eggs to the gourmet in Glanymede Castle and return to Mosgul to complete the quest.

14. Glutton’s Guidebook – Tales of Arise Artifacts

Makes the effects of recipes last 80% longer.
Location
Finish the quest “The Phantom Flower” which you get by returning to the library in Autelina Palace after The Wedge appears. The quest requires you to fight a boss in Nevira Snowplains.

15. Quivering Candles – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
More Ore
Increases the amount of ore acquired from mining points.
Location
Finish the bard’s quest “The Mysterious Pair” available in Niez. This requires you to collect a Steel Pipe from the northern most point of the Iglia Wastes. In order for this quest to be available you have to heal the bard in the quest “A Healer and Her Patients”, which is difficult to miss.

16. Golden Fairy Statue – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
More Ore
Increases the amount of ore from mining points.
Location
This artifact is gotten by completing the “Humbling Lesson” sidequest, which becomes available in Cyslodia after defeating the 4 elemental spirit bosses that appear after The Wedge shows up. You’ll have to do two easy quests which simply involve watching a cutscene, after which you’ll receive the artifact.
17. Metal Miner’s Cap – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Carry Over Arte Proficiencies
Arte proficiencies and usage counts are carried over into New Game+.
Location
The final several artifacts are all received by finding owls that appear in the post-game if the original finding owls quest was completed. Note that one of the owls is missable. It’s on the giant ship dungeon at the end of the Mahag Saar section.
For the Metal Miner’s Cap, finish the quest “Beyond the Grave”, which requires you to visit the Uninhabited Island via the Hidden Wharf. To receive the quest, visit the Tuoh Seashore and find a letter in a bottle.
Once you’ve beaten the boss at the end of the quest, the owl will be near the boss fight location.

18. Broken Machine Gun – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Carry Over Money and Items
Allows you to carry money and items over into New Game+.
Location
The final several artifacts are all received by finding owls that appear in the post-game if the original finding owls quest was completed. Note that one of the owls is missable. It’s on the giant ship dungeon at the end of the Mahag Saar section.
For the broken machine gun, return to the Riville Prison Tower and visit the Hidden Chamber, past where Alphen first acquires his armor.

19. Ancient Excavator – Tales of Arise Artifacts

Carry Over Levels
Allows you to carry levels over into New Game+.
Location
The final several artifacts are all received by finding owls that appear in the post-game if the original finding owls quest was completed. Note that one of the owls is missable. It’s on the giant ship dungeon at the end of the Mahag Saar section.
For the Ancient Excavator, the owl is available in the Guard’s Chamber in Autelina Palace (2F).

20. Battle Maiden’s Shield – Tales of Arise Artifacts

Allows you to carry acquired equipment over into New Game+.
Location
The final several artifacts are all received by finding owls that appear in the post-game if the original finding owls quest was completed. Note that one of the owls is missable. It’s on the giant ship dungeon at the end of the Mahag Saar section.
For the Battle Maiden’s Shield, the owl is available in the Lord’s Chamber of Ganymede Castle in Calaglia.

21. Trident – Tales of Arise Artifacts

Allows you to carry over skills in New Game+.

The final several artifacts are all received by finding owls that appear in the post-game if the original finding owls quest was completed. Note that one of the owls is missable. It’s on the giant ship dungeon at the end of the Mahag Saar section.
The Trident is received after finding the owl in the Lord’s Chamber of Del Fharis Castle.

22. Machine Beast Statue – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Carry Over Outfits
Allows you to carry outfits over into New Game+.
Location
The final several artifacts are all received by finding owls that appear in the post-game if the original finding owls quest was completed. Note that one of the owls is missable. It’s on the giant ship dungeon at the end of the Mahag Saar section.
Once you’ve found all 38 owls, talk to the owl king to receive this final artifact.

23. Vivid Sphere – Tales of Arise Artifacts
Effect
Carry Over Records
Allows you to carry over database entries and field data into New Game+.
Location
The final several artifacts are all received by finding owls that appear in the post-game if the original finding owls quest was completed. Note that one of the owls is missable. It’s on the giant ship dungeon at the end of the Mahag Saar section.
For the Vivid Sphere, find the owl in the Iglia Wastes. In the elevated portion at the south of the map, use Dohalim’s field ability to grow a ladder. The owl will be at the top of this new area.
