Unlike some other Tales of Arise achievements guides, rather than just listing the achievements, I’m going to explain how to unlock some of the trickier Tales of Arise achievements. I’ve personally fully unlocked all of the Tales of Arise achievements myself, so I may have some insight that could be valuable.

tales of arise achievements

You may notice I have 47 achievements and the console version of the game has 48 achievements. That’s because I played the game on Steam and the final 48th achievement on console, Arisen, is simply the achievement you get for unlocking all 47 Tales of Arise achievements.

With that said, let’s get into the Tales of Arise achievements guide.

tales of arise achievements 1-5

1. Emissary Of Liberation – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Lord Balseph. Keep the flag of liberation raised high. The fight has only just begun.”

You get this achievement (and the next 7 achievements) as you advance through the story. This one is acquired after beating the first lord, Balseph. It should be straightforward to acquire.

2. Vanquishers of Darkness – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Lord Ganabelt, bringing light to Cyslodia and its people for the first time in centuries.”

You get the Vanquishers of Darkness achievement as you advance through the story. Just keep progressing normally and you’ll unlock this automatically.

3. Comrades in Freedom – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Recruit Lord Dohalim to your ranks. With friends like him, the Crown Contest’s days are numbered.”

You get Comrades in Freedom automatically after finishing the story sequence in Menancia. Keep going with the story and it will unlock.

4. Retired Avenger – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Lord Almeidra. A lone boy is all that stood between her and death by one of her victims.”

You get Retired Avenger as you advance through the story. Simply progress to the point where you defeat the 4th lord and it will unlock.

5. Liberator of Dahna – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Lord Vholran. With all the Renan lords deposed, Dahna is now free at last.”

You get Liberator of Dahna after defeating the 5th lord in Ganath Haros. Keep going with the game to unlock it.

6. Invasion Averted – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Stop the lights from the wedge. The Rena have stolen more than enough from Dahna as it is.”

Invasion Averted is unlocked when you complete the dungeon called The Wedge which appears after the events in Ganath Haros. Progress through the story to unlock it.

7. The Truth – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Learn the truth about Dahna and Rena on Daeq Faezol. Now take the fight to the Great Spirit.”

You unlock The Truth after visiting the Daeq Faezol space station following the events at Lenegis. Just progress through the plot.

8. Destined Liberator – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Save both worlds from impending destruction. A bright future awaits the people of the new world.”

You get Destined Liberator for beating the game. It’s the last of the Tales of Arise achievements that’s earned strictly through story progression.

9. Wall Smasher – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Forge strong bonds with all party members as a testament to all the many hours spent together.”

For the Wall Smasher achievement, you need to see all of the relationship scenes that are available when you sleep at camp. You can tell who has a scene available because when you sleep, you’re asked who to spend time with. On that menu, there will be a speech bubble icon next to anyone whose relationship can be improved.

This has a real world timer, and the time you need to wait in between scenes is about an hour. So if you find you haven’t gotten this achievement by the end of the game, you can just leave the game running and do something else for an hour and come back and check if a new scene has popped up.

10. Intertwining Hearts – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Forge a strong bond with Shionne, sharing your first meal together again, and plenty more…”

To get the Intertwining Hearts achievement, you need to view all the relationship bonding scenes available for Shionne at camp. You’ll know you’re done when the achievement pops up and the icon next to Shionne’s name when you sleep changes from a speech bubble to a smiley face.

11. An Honest Mage – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Forge a strong bond with Rinwell, helping her come to terms with her lineage and feelings.”

For the An Honest Mage achievement you need to complete the relationship bond with Rinwell by viewing all the scenes. You should be able to complete most relationship bonds by the end of the game just playing normally, but if not, just park yourself next to a campsite and leave the game on. Check every real-world hour or so if a new scene has popped up.

12. Role Model – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Forge a strong bond with Law, giving him something to aspire to on and off the battlefield.”

As with the other relationship achievements, Role Model requires you to complete your relationship bond with Law. Just talk to him at the campsite whenever he has a speech bubble next to his name when you go to sleep. If it’s not there, check back again in an hour or so.

13. A Modest Dream – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Forge a strong bond with Kisara, reminding her it’s good to dream a little.”

For A Modest Dream, you’ll need to complete the relationship bond with Kisara. Talk to her whenever she has a speech bubble next to her name when you go to sleep at camp. If there’s no speech bubble, check back again in about an hour and keep progressing in the story.

14. Drink ’til You Drop – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Forge a strong bond with Dohalim, becoming drinking buddies with the one-time lord.”

For Drink ’til You Drop, watch all of Dohalim’s relationship scenes at camp. If he has a speech bubble next to his name when you go to sleep, there’s a new scene for you to view. If there’s not a speech bubble, you either need to wait about an hour or continue progressing in the story.

15. Owl Homecoming – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Find and report all of the owls. Even with his cohorts back, Hootie’s place remains with Rinwell.”

For the Owl Homecoming achievement, you need to find all of the owls spread throughout Dahna including the 8 owls that only become available toward the end of the game. Owl locations is a guide of its own, but none of the owls are missable and you can go track down the owls any time you like with the help of a guide. There is some misinformation that the owl on the ship at the end of the Mahag Saar sequence is missable, but if you miss it, it just moves to Thistlym near the pier.

16. Rebellious Spark – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Clear your first sub-quest. Even the lowest spark can grow into a raging, all-consuming flame.”

The Rebellious Spark achievement is an easy one. Just complete any sub-quest. You’ll get it naturally as you play through the game.

tales of arise achievements 17-22

17. Problem Solver – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Clear 70 sub-quests. No request from the people is too hard for this party to solve.”

70 sub-quests is all of the sub-quests available in the game. None of these sub-quests are missable and you can see where they’re available on the map, so just do any sub-quests you run into and scroll through various regions on the map to see if any new sub-quests have appeared every once in a while. Most are locked by story progress and some require you to complete certain sub-quests. Just do all the ones you find and you’ll unlock this by the end of the game.

18. Skilled Angler – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Catch your first fish. More than just a fun pastime for lazy days, it’s a way to find food, too.”

For Skilled Angler, simply catch any fish. The game basically forces you to unlock this achievement the first time fishing becomes available following the events in Menancia.

19. Godly Angler – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Catch every type of fish and show the Fishing Notes to the Fishing Expert.”

As the description suggests, for Godly Angler you need to catch all of the different types of fish. Here are some tips for how to do that. First, check the patterns the fish respond to, and also check in your field guide for the shape of each fish. The fish icons when you cast your line are the exact images from the field guide, so if you’re looking for any breed of catfish, for example, it will have exactly the same shape as in the guide. Perform exactly the pattern listed for the fish you need. If a fish with the shape you want responds to the pattern you’re looking for, that’s your fish.

The boss fish are considerably more difficult, but each one has its own specific lure. You don’t need these lures, however, except possibly for the Silver Marlin, which seems like it appears extremely rarely without its lure.

20. Speedy Chef – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Cook your first meal. In such harsh conditions, simply staying fed is what matters most.”

You’ll get the Speedy Chef achievement as soon as you cook your first meal, something the game not only basically forces you to do, but also something you’ll do regularly throughout the game. So, this is pretty much a free achievement.

21. Globetrotting Foodie – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Acquire 30 kinds of non-DLC recipes. The quest for tasty meals spans every corner of Dahna.”

For Globetrotting Foodie, you need to collect 30 recipes, which is only about 70-75% of the recipes available in the game, so there’s a little wiggle room here. Most recipes are acquired through sub-quests, so just keep doing sub-quests and being diligent about exploring dungeons thoroughly and you should be fine.

22. Arms Stockpiler – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Forge 100 types of weapons. Such dedicated forging teaches that every weapons has good points.”

For the Arms Stockpiler achievement, just keep your weapons up to date. All weapons appear based on story progression and all of them require materials that are easily acquired just before and just after the point they unlock in the story, so all you need to do to get this achievement is upgrade your weapons whenever you can, something you’ll probably do anyway. There are 103 total weapons available to craft, so you need to craft almost all of them.

23. Jeweler – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Craft 30 accessories. The search for the perfect balance between form and function never ends.”

For the Jeweler achievement you just need to craft 30 accessories. Quality doesn’t matter. You can get this achievement if you want as soon as accessory crafting becomes available — just created 30 cheap accessories from level 1 ore. If you’d rather wait, you’ll probably get close to the 30 accessories threshold if you create any real good end-game accessories.

24. What’s in a Name? – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Learn your first non-DLC title skill. Whatever you go by, that name shall become your source of power.”

For the What’s in a Name? achievement just purchase any skill from any skill panel. You should get this naturally pretty early on just by playing the game normally.

tales of arise achievements 25-30

25. Myriad Monikers – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Learn 400 non-DLC title skills. Fame and renown bring a slew of aliases from friend and foe alike.”

There are 600 total non-DLC skills available for Myriad Monikers, so you need to learn 2/3rds of all the skills in the game. You should unlock this naturally towards the end of the game or some time during the post-game.

26. Hundred-Hit Smackdown – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Get over 100 hits in a combo. Band together and don’t let your enemies strike back.”

For the Hundred-Hit Smackdown achievement you need a 100 hit combo. The way to do this is to strategically use Boost Strikes to refill your AG during a combo so you can keep your combo going without having to stop. You also need to avoid getting hit. You can get this off a downed boss or any high-health enemy with easily avoidable attacks.

27. One-Hit Wonder – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Deal 10000 or more damage in one hit. It takes a warrior’s all to deliver such a fantastic blow.”

Most likely you’ll unlock the One-Hit Wonder achievement naturally by using Mystic Artes sometime around the 5th lord or so. If you’re having trouble with this one for whatever reason, make Alphen a level 5 Magic Emblem accessory with Fire Damage +15% in every slot towards the end of the game and go hit something with a Flaming Edge attack. That’ll probably do it.

28. Diligent Counterattacker – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Perform 100 Counter Edges. Make your enemies fear every missed blow with these retaliations.”

For the Diligent Counterattack achievement, you need to perform 100 Counter Edges. To do that, just tap the attack button whenever you dodge an attack. Alternatively, with Alphen you can unlock a skill that lets him Counter Edge after enemy defeats, which gives you more opportunities. You should acquire this naturally at some point if you use Counter Edges even occasionally.

29. High Roller – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Spend 400000 gald. In this party, if something’s for sale, it doesn’t stay that way for long.”

For the High Roller achievement, keep spending money. You’ll almost certainly get this naturally just from keeping your weapons upgraded, crafting accessories and occasionally buying consumables.

30. Peak Strength – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Reach level 100. Dahna’s liberators now stand tall and mighty having come from rock bottom.”

For the Peak Strength achievement you need to reach max level. This is easily done in the post-game by beating Chronos, the boss of the post-game dungeon, over and over again. It should only take 3-5 victories here to max out your level, as long as you have the Suit of Armor and Golden Suit of Armor artifacts.

You can’t even do the post-game dungeon without acquiring the Golden Suit of Armor, since you get it from the Earth Spirit Temple which needs to be completed before the post-game dungeon unlocks. The Suit of Armor comes from completing the sub-quest chain about the lovers that starts in Thistlym.

31. Encyclopedia Zeuglica – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Encounter 120 types of non-DLC enemies. Careful observation is sure to reveal their weaknesses.”

For the Encyclopedia Zeuglica achievement, there are a total of 181 non-DLC enemies, so you only need to encounter about 2/3rds of them. You should unlock this naturally towards the end of the game as long as you do sub-quests and fight the optional large monsters you encounter from time to time.

tales of arise achievement 32-36

32. Unrelenting Blaze – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Efreet Malum. What was once a small spark grew to consume even the flaming giant.”

The Unrelenting Blaze achievement is basically a story achievement. Efreet Malum is the boss of Berg Volcano and you have to defeat it as part of the story.

33. Night Blossom – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Menerys. If only there had been time to admire the Phantom Flower just a little longer…”

Night Blossom is a stag-like boss enemy that you encounter during the sub-quest The Phantom Flower of Nevira, which can be started by visiting the library in the castle in Menancia after the wedge appears. It’s level 54, and you won’t be level 54 at that point, so be prepared.

34. Quaking Continent – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Grand Gnome. So enormous was its body that it dwarfed even the ruins surrounding it.”

For the Quaking Continent achievement you need to complete the Earth Spirit Temple, which is a dungeon that becomes available via the “Spirit Temple” sub-quest that appears in Trasilda Highway following the appearance of the wedge. It will be difficult when it first appears so you might want to power level a little or come back later.

35. Billowing Cyclone – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Procella Sylph. Soaring the skies on its back will forever remain a cherished memory.”

For the Billowing Cyclone achievement, you need to defeat the giant bird monster at the top of the Tower of the Wind Spirit in Mahag Saar. You get there via the Ridge in Mount Dhiara. The boss won’t appear until you acquire the “Farewell, Mage” quest in Niez following the appearance of the wedge. This is also, in my opinion, the coolest boss fight in the game.

36. Raging Current – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Defeat Luo Undine. Even its heft couldn’t stop it from being washed away by the party’s might.”

For the Raging Current achievement you have to beat the boss that’s guarding the secret fishing spot in the Fogwhirl Limestone Caverns, south of the Shinefall Woods. The Fogwhirl Caverns don’t open up until you get the sub-quest “Untamable Rage” in Thistlym after the wedge appears. This boss fight can be somewhat irritating and the boss is level 60, so you might want to hold off until you get to level 60+.

37. Big Game Hunter – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Slay 20 gigants. No good adventurer can resist the temptation of fighting a great beast.”

For the Big Game Hunter achievement, you need to find and defeat every gigant in the game. This isn’t particularly hard, but some have specific spawning conditions. There are a few, like the Thunderite in Iglia Wastes, that only appear for sub-quests, so be sure to do sub-quests, and there is at least one, Great Dragon, that seems to just appear randomly when fighting other monsters in Trasilda Highway.

38. Otherworldly Survivor – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Clear the ‘Otherworldly Visitors’ sub-quest and bring about a reunion between a certain pair.”

For the Otherworldly Survivor achievement, you just need to complete the post-game dungeon, which appears in the Earth Spirit Temple once you visit the final dungeon, as long as you’ve already completed the Spirit Temple quest.

39. Putting the Past in its Place – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Clear the ‘Reminiscence Device’ sub-quest. No past foe is any trouble for today’s party!”

To unlock the Putting the Past in its Place achievement, once you’ve been to Rena, return to Daeq Faezol and there’ll be a quest-giver you wants you to fight an endurance battle against all of the lords in VR. This is pretty much the final challenge of the entire game. You should do it after completing the post-game dungeon and fighting the boss there a few times to get to level 100.

tales of arise achievements 40-44

40. Elite Vanguard – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Clear Ultimate level of group training grounds fights. What a party like that, who needs training?”

For the Elite Vanguard achievement, the Ultimate level of group training fights is a battle against a level 99 sword dancer-type boss. If you’re level 100, this fight is much easier than either Chronos or the Reminiscence Device battles, so just head over to the Training Grounds and take care of it.

41. Dilettante – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Obtain your first non-DLC artifact. Its strange, beguiling form never fails to shock and intrigue.”

You’re going to get an artifact eventually and thus unlock the Dilettante achievement. If you want to know where to specifically find all the artifacts, you can check out the artifacts guide.

42. Curious Hobbyist – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Obtain 20 types of non-DLC artifacts. Amassing such a big collection is nothing short of a calling.”

For the Curious Hobbyist achievement, you need to collect 20 out of the 23 artifacts in the game. This also means you need to collect all the owls, because 8 artifacts are gained from locating end-game owls that only appear once the initial owl collection quest is complete. To locate all the artifacts, check out the artifacts guide.

43. Novice Rancher – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Collect your first harvest on the ranch. Each life taken is raised well with love and respect.”

The game will practically force you to get the Novice Rancher achievement when it explains to you how ranching works as a natural part of the story.

44. Veteran Rancher – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Collect 50 harvests on the ranch. The meat produced sustains the party and its cause.”

For the Veteran Rancher achievement, just keep refilling the ranch with animals every time it tells you your animals are ready to harvest until you get it. If you do that as you progress through the story, you’ll have the achievement by the end of the game. If you don’t, you’re going to have to do a lot of running around and waiting while you try to collect 50 harvests.

45. Owl Spotter – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Find and report 13 owls. The lonely forest is beginning to show signs of feathered life.”

For the Owl Spotter achievement, Owls are common enough and the Hootle-alarm that helps you find them is obvious enough you should find 13 owls no problem. However, you’re going to want all the owls for several reasons and for that you might want to consult a guide.

46. Owl Scouter – Tales of Arise Achievements

“Find and report 32 owls. The forest is now starting to teem with hordes of hooting owls galore.”

For the Owl Scouter achievement, you need to find all the owls except the post-game owls that don’t appear until you’ve already gotten this achievement. If you’re diligent about finding owls in every area where Hootle alerts you, you’ll probably accomplish this without a guide, but you may want to consult a guide anyway.

One tip to help you, even with a guide, is that if you find yourself missing a few owls and you don’t know which ones you missed, you can talk to the owls perched together on one of the trees in the Owl Forest and it will tell you if that tree is full or if you’re missing owls. Each tree corresponds to an area. Red is Calaglia, blue is Cyslodia, yellow is Menancia, green is Mahag Saar and purple is Ganath Haros.

47. Ceaseless Chatterbox – Tales of Arise Achievements

“View 300 skits. Despite all their time together, the party never runs out of things to discuss.”

For the Ceaseless Chatterbox achievement, you need to view most of the skits. It’s probably best to do this as you go through the game, but it doesn’t really matter. Any skits that you trigger but don’t actually view show up in the reminiscence menu in camp, so at the end of the game just go view all the skits you haven’t seen there and this achievement will probably unlock.

48. Arisen – Tales of Arise Achievements

On the console version of the game you’ll get the Arisen trophy once you’ve collected all 47 other trophies.
