If you’re playing Darkest Dungeon 2, you’re going to want to know which are the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets so you know which trinkets are the most valuable to unlock at the Altar of Hope, as well as which trinkets to look out for on each run to power up your party.

Each character has a variety of Hero Paths to choose from, and in some cases that alters which trinkets you’re going to want to look out for. I’m going to keep this list relatively general, but I’ll make sure to mention if a trinket is particularly useful or useless for specific hero paths.

With lists like this, there’s always some amount of subjectivity, but I’ve been playing Darkest Dungeon 2 since the first day of early access and I’ve completed dozens of runs. The best I can do is tell you which trinkets I always feel lucky to find vs which ones I always throw away.

With the introductions out of the way, let’s get right into the Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets for Every Character Guide.

Highwayman – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

Regardless of which Hero Path I choose for Highwayman, I tend to seek out the best trinkets for increasing damage. So, trinkets for +damage, +ranged damage, +crit or chance for damage over time. Here are my top 5 for Highwayman.

5. Rat Skull

Rat Skull is one of the Highwayman specific trinkets. When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Highwayman, he’s usually fast enough to go first most of the time, but if he’s not fast enough in your specific party it’s not difficult to pump his speed up with inn items to put him ahead of the pack.

If you have this item and the Sharpshot hero path, you’re getting Strength and Crit tokens almost every round, more than doubling your overall damage output.

The only reason I don’t put this one higher is there’s a similar trinket which also gives crit tokens, but you only need 8 speed for it to activate, you don’t need to be first in the round.

4. Celebrated Chalice

Celebrated Chalice gives +10% crit, making it on par with the best +crit trinket, and it additionally gives +4 speed. Your relics and baubles are usually above 50 except for a few nodes right after you dump your currency at a Hoarder, Hospital or Inn.

Typically I’m able to find a crit trinket and a damage trinket. It’s all random, so if I only had crit trinkets I’d equip both, but given the option I wouldn’t equip two crit trinkets over a crit trinket and a damage trinket.

3. Snappy Swig

Snappy Swig is the trinket I was talking about earlier. In my opinion, even though the crit token activation chance is lower, it’s a more reliable trinket than the Rat Skull. Additionally, it doesn’t have drawbacks like the Rat Skull does.

The +1 Burn damage is a nice little bonus. Obviously the Highwayman can’t normally cause Burn damage, but if you’ve got The Complete Catalog trophy from the Librarian or the Enlightening Element (which didn’t quite make the list for Highwayman), it can add a little extra damage.

It’s not hard to get Highwayman to 8+ speed, so this trinket is basically +50% crit. It’s not only among the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Highwayman, it’s one of the best trinkets for a lot of characters.

2. Raven’s Reach

Raven’s Reach is a bread and butter trinket for Highwayman. It’s only ranged damage, so it doesn’t affect Duelist’s Advance, Wicked Slice or Open Vein, but for a Sharpshot Highwayman it’s a no-brainer, and even for a Rogue Highwayman, it boosts Point Blank Shot, which is his main source of damage.

When a Rogue Highwayman isn’t using Point Blank Shot, he’s most likely using Duelist’s Advance or Open Vein, neither which are most valued for their direct damage.

It also stacks with the Greater Sharpness Charm, so you can get some pretty big damage numbers.

1. Greater Sharpness Charm

Greater Sharpness Charm is a best-in-slot item for a lot of characters, especially DPS characters like the Highwayman. It’s definitely one of the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets.

There’s not much to say about this really. It’s the biggest straight damage boosting trinket, which is a potent bonus for any character focused on dealing direct damage.

Highwayman Overall Best-in-Slot

In my opinion, the best possible trinket setup for Highwayman when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets is a Snappy Swig and a Greater Sharpness Charm.

Plague Doctor – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

With Plague Doctor, unless you’re rolling with a Surgeon, you usually want +Plague Damage and +Healing when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets. There’s some personal preference involved, as well as luck. You could do one of each, both Plague Damage, or both Healing. I also really like putting debuff trinkets on Plague Doctor, because she’s good at hitting multiple targets.

There are lots of trinkets that are great for Plague Doctor, so it’s going to be hard to whittle it down to 5.

5. Early Experiment

There are a few trinkets that increase Plague Damage. There’s a +1 Duration one (Brilliant Brew), a +1 Damage one (Galvanizing Goblet) and one that adds an additional 3 Plague Damage 33% of the time (Curing Cuppa).

I think you could put any of those in place of this one. The bonus is pretty similar in practice.

Early Experiment is the best one overall. +66% Plague Damage dealt is +2 Plague Damage on Plague Grenade and +3 Plague Damage on Noxious Blast. So it’s hands down the biggest increase to Plague Damage.

For those reasons I think it deserves this slot, but it’s also useless on Surgeon and it requires you to equip a Spore Grenade.

First, Spore Grenade is among the rarer items, meaning you’re not going to unlock it until you’re close to unlocking all the Altar of Hope combat items.

Second, and more importantly, equipping a Spore Grenade means you can’t equip Medicinal Herbs for the Annotated Textbook. Unlike the other Plague boosting trinkets, you can’t use this one together with the Annotated Textbook.

4. Corrupted Bile Gland

Corrupted Bile Gland has a pretty severe downside, but usually Plague Doctor is in Rank 4 and is the least likely party member to be attacked.

Though the Corrupted Bile Gland comes with a big downside, the increase to Plague Doctor’s overall damage potential is huge. It pretty much doubles his DoT damage, and it applies on Magnesium Rain and other skills that don’t have a direct damage component as well.

3. Sparkleball

Sparkleball almost always adds a negative token. Because Plague Doctor usually hits 2 characters every round, a Sparkleball makes him a debuffing machine. Additionally, Plague Doctor gets the Magnesium Rain skill, which hits all enemies, making Plague Doctor able to debuff the entire enemy team.

2. Annotated Textbook

If you have a Surgeon Plague Doctor, Annotated Textbook is the #1 trinket for sure. For all other Paths, the +50% Healing is more than enough to make the Annotated Textbook worth equipping.

The downside, Vulnerability if First in Round, is pretty much nothing. Plague Doctor is pretty slow. She’s not going to have any chance at being First in Round in most party formations.

1. Ghastly Gruel

I love this thing. Obviously, it’s pretty useless if you’re using a Surgeon, but for any other Plague Doctor path, I think Ghastly Gruel is a shoe-in for Plague Doctor’s best trinket.

It gives the second best +Healing of any trinket, and that 2 Health Healing passive (which the trinket alone bumps up to 3) helps more than you’d expect.

Not only is it a constant party-wide regen, but even a tiny heal can bring character’s out of the Death’s Door state. This thing rocks, if you find it, slap it on Plague Doctor right away.

Plague Doctor Overall Best-in-Slot

There are a lot of ways to go with Plague Doctor, but if I had my pick, I’d go with the Ghastly Gruel and the Annotated Textbook. I’ve had that loadout before and it makes Plague Doctor a healing beast. If you feel you don’t need that much healing, I’d go with the Sparkleball instead of one or the other.

Grave Robber – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Grave Robber, you generally want +damage and +crit just like the Highwayman, but Grave Robber’s unique mechanics and different Hero Paths come into play.

5. Silent Treatment

This is a tough one to rank when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets. If you have the Nightsworn Hero Path for Grave Robber, this trinket is so good it’s worth taking up both slots. You have to equip a Stained trinket to equip the Silent Treatment, none of which do anything for Grave Robber.

For Nightsworn, which gets +50% damage when Cloaked, Silent Treatment means near-permanent +50% damage/+50% crit, which is better than anything else you can get.

For any other Grave Robber hero path, this trinket is mediocre. So, for Nightsworn, Silent Treatment is indisputably #1 and, in my opinion, Nightsworn is the best overall path for Grave Robber. For every other Grave Robber path, it’s not worth putting on this list. So I’m going to put it at #5 when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Grave Robber.

4. His Rings

His Rings adds Plague damage to almost all of Grave Robber’s damaging skills. It’s best on Deadeye, obviously, but every Hero Path gets a decent benefit from this trinket, because they all use either Ranged damage skills or Poison Dart.

It’s worth noting that the 2 Plague Damage and the 33% Plague Damage bonus to Poison Dart stack with each other, meaning if your Poison Dart crits, it gets +33% Plague Damage and +2 Plague Damage on top of that.

The drawback is a non-issue. If your Grave Robber is in Rank 1 you have a bad party formation.

3. Raven’s Reach

Raven’s Reach gives +20% Ranged Damage and most of the Grave Robber’s skills are Ranged Damage. This one’s a no brainer. It’s obviously among the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Grave Robber.

That said, it doesn’t affect Lunge or Pick to the Face, so it’s not as good as the Greater Sharpness Charm, and Grave Robber’s base damage for skills is low so +20% damage isn’t as much of a bonus for Grave Robber as it is for other characters.

For those reasons I’d say the Snappy Swig is a better trinket than this, for Grave Robber.

2. Snappy Swig

We already talked about the Snappy Swig for Highwayman, but the same rationale applies to Grave Robber as well. It’s +50% crit. What more could you ask for? It also pairs well with any of the other trinkets on this list, except the Silent Treatment for obvious reasons.

1. Greater Sharpness Charm

The Greater Sharpness Charm makes an appearance again on the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets list, and it probably won’t be the last time. It’s just a straightforward massive damage bonus. It has no conditions to meet and no drawbacks. Just big +damage.

Grave Robber Overall Best-in-Slot

If I had a Nightsworn, I’d rock the Silent Treatment. Otherwise, I’d go with a Snappy Swig and a Greater Sharpness Charm, just like Highwayman.

Man-at-Arms – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

Man-at-Arms is the first tank character on the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets list, so we’re going to see some different trinkets here. Man-at-Arms deals decent damage, so if you don’t have other options you can get some mileage out of a +melee damage trinket or something similar, but I think tanking trinkets are best on him when push comes to shove.

5. Gnarly Knuckles

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Man-at-Arms, the Gnarly Knuckles are an alright choice. They’re common to find and they increase the damage of all his direct damage attacks.

Overall I prefer tanking trinkets on Man-at-Arms, but I’d rather equip the Gnarly Knuckles, a very good damage trinket, than the mediocre or low level tanking trinkets.

4. Price of Pride

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Man-at-Arms, his own hero-specific trinket, Price of Pride, is pretty good. The stun added onto Bellow is alright. It gives you some reason to equip and use Bellow in between rounds of casting Retribution.

The main benefit of the Price of Pride, though, is the Block+ token on hit. That adds a significant amount of damage mitigation.

3. Clenching Claws

Clenching Claws inflicts a variety of negative status effects on anyone who attacks your Man-at-Arms, including Stun, which is amazing. In total, 50% of the time, the attacker gets stuck with a nasty debuff.

The Immobilize token isn’t that big of a deal. Most of the time it’s actually a good thing. The only time it can really get in the way is if you’re partnered with a Rogue Highwayman and you don’t have The General’s Dream trophy from The Dreaming General.

2. Befuddling Sundial

The Befuddling Sundial heals 10% of HP almost every round, and the drawback, 2 stress damage 20% of the time, isn’t really that big of a deal. Since Man-at-Arms, more than any other tank, is able to keep attacks focused on him, the huge amount of passive regeneration provided by the Befuddling Sundial is a big help, making it one of the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Man-at-Arms.

1. Reverberating Redoubt

Reverberating Redoubt is good for two big reasons. First, that extra action 20% of the time when hit is a huge bonus.

Second, while 2 damage doesn’t sound like a lot, if you have this trinket equipped, enemies will Deathblow themselves by attacking Man-at-Arms when they’re on Death’s Door.

You’ll regularly see enemies get put in Death’s Door by Man-at-Arms riposte tokens and then Deathblowed immediately after when the game registers the 2 damage from the Reverberating Redoubt.

Man-at-Arms is pretty slow and you shouldn’t have too much trouble making sure his speed is lower than 2.

Man-at-Arms Overall Best-in-Slot

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Man-at-Arms, if I had my pick, I’d go with Reverberating Redoubt and Befuddling Sundial any day of the week. I think that combination just makes him the most effective tank he can be.

Keep in mind Befuddling Sundial activates on the extra turns, so together that means every time Man-at-Arms gets hit, he has a 16% chance of healing 10% HP.

Jester – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

While Jester is usually picked for his Stress Heal, you don’t really need to boost his Stress Healing with trinkets. So when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Jester, I prefer to focus on trinkets that boost damage or bleed damage and trinkets that inflict debuffs.

5. Gnarly Knuckles

Jester is a melee-focused character so the Gnarly Knuckles are a great option for boosting his damage output when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Jester.

The Greater Sharpness Charm is a direct upgrade to this, but they also stack together if you want to use both.

4. Sparkleball

Like Plague Doctor, Jester regularly hits multiple enemies per round with his Harvest Skill, which allows him to apply the debuffs from Sparkleball on multiple targets.

Jester is an excellent candidate for a Sparkleball.

3. Snappy Swig

As with most other DPS characters, Snappy Swig is an easy +50% crit for any character who can easily reach 8 speed. Jester is one of the faster characters, so you should be able to keep him above that threshold.

2. Greater Sharpness Charm

Greater Sharpness Charm is a big direct damage bonus. The only reason it’s #2 on the list for Jester is because Jester just so happens to have a character specific trinket that I think is better in terms of the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Jester.

1. Severed Finger

Severed Finger not only gives a bigger damage bonus than the Greater Sharpness Charm on every round except the first one, it also boosts the bleed damage caused by Slice Off from 3 to 4.

If has a minor drawback. +33% bleed damage received. Eh, who cares?

Jester Overall Best-in-Slot

In my opinion, Snappy Swig and Severed Finger is the best possible trinket combo you can get for Jester.

I’d say Greater Sharpness Charm and Severed Finger, but the best trophy is generally agreed to be the Complete Catalog, which makes your characters inflict burn damage on crits. If you’ve got that trophy, +50% crit is better than +22% damage any day of the week.

Hellion – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

Hellion has some tanking skills and if you go with the Carcass Hero Path you can focus on tanking with her, but for the most part players are going to use her as a sturdy frontline damage dealer, so when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Hellion I’m going to focus on DPS trinkets.

5. Greater Heartseeker

Hellion is too slow for the Snappy Swig usually, so the Greater Heartseeker is her next best option when it comes to boosting crit, and crit is great for Hellion because she hits hard, so her crits can hit huge numbers. I’ve seen her Howling End skill crit for 45+ damage multiple times.

4. Footman’s Grog

One way to think about the Footman’s Grog trinket is that it not only makes Hellion immune to Vulnerability and Weakness, it also gives her free Block and Strength tokens.

Since Hellion is a frontliner, unlike the other DPS characters, she’s more likely to get afflicted with debilitating status effects. Footman’s Grog puts an end to those and also powers her up. It’s a great trinket that increases her defense as well as her offense.

3. Greater Sharpness Charm

Hellion’s base damage is high so Greater Sharpness Charm is always a great option. It also stacks with the Clarifying Carcanet, so you can increase your damage by quite a bit.

For those reasons I think it deserve a spot on the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets list for Hellion.

2. Nautical Compass

Unlike most characters, Hellion gets a lot of benefit from all the different buffs you can get from the Nautical Compass.

Whether you get a defensive token or an offensive token (by the way, among other things, this trinket is effectively +20% crit), Hellion, who needs both defense and offense as a frontliner, will get a lot of benefit.

I think it deserves a spot on Hellion’s list of Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets.

1. Clarifying Carcanet

The theme of the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets list for Hellion is these are trinkets that provide both offense and defense, and Clarifying Carcanet gives you both.

It gives almost as much of a damage bonus as the Greater Sharpness Charm while also giving +20% Max HP.

For most of the other damage dealers, it’s not worth it to try to keep your relics over 75 for the extra HP. For other frontliners who are mostly tanks, it’s not really worth it to keep Baubles over 75 for the damage. But for Hellion, you really want both.

Hellion Overall Best-in-Slot

If I had my pick of trinkets to put on Hellion when it comes to her Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets, I’d choose the Clarifying Carcanet and the Nautical Compass. I feel that gives her the best combination of bonuses to both offense and defense.

Runaway – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

Runaway is sort of a jack-of-all-trades type of character who has medium damage, a lot of utility skills, and the ability to inflict Burns. I think your best bet with her in terms of the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets is to focus on increasing burn damage, and using some other specialized trinkets.

5. Sacred Scribblings

Sacred Scribblings are a pretty common trinket and they very simply give +1 Burn Duration. For Runaway this is a decent bonus, but not an amazing one. Still, when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Runaway, I think it deserves to be mentioned.

4. Celebrated Chalice

Celebrated Chalice gives Runaway speed and crit. It just generally makes her more effective at her role. You typically want Runaway to go first because her purpose can vary from round to round. One round she may be healing, the next she may be using one of her position changing skills, the next she may be debuffing.

3. Enlightening Element

Enlightening Element increases both burn damage and survivability for Runaway. It’s pretty much tailor made for her. If you’re using the Survivor Path with her, which is, in my opinion, her best Path, you’ll be doubling down on the innate dodge tokens she gets from that Path with this trinket.

2. Knitted Blanket

Knitted Blanket is one of the Runaway specific trinkets and the main bonus is obviously the +33% Burn Damage. +100% Burn Resistance is nothing to scoff at either.

It’s not immediately obvious, but Gaunt is the zombie enemy type. All the Gaunt enemies are super weak and Runaway’s base damage isn’t impressive to begin with. The downside here is negligible.

1. Snappy Swig

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Runaway, Snappy Swig is especially good because of the +1 Burn Damage.

It’s already a top-notch trinket for most DPS characters because of the 50% crit chance, but Runaway is the only character who really gets to take advantage of that bonus Burn damage, and it’s actually a pretty powerful bonus for her.

Runaway Overall Best Trinkets

If I had my pick when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Runaway, I’d go with the Knitted Blanket and the Snappy Swig.

Occultist – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

Occultist is a DPS character with an unreliable, mediocre heal. You should think of him as competing for a slot with Highwayman and Grave Robber, with a little bit of healing utility, more than a healer himself. If you bring him, you’ll still need to bring Plague Doctor or, at least, Runaway.

For those reasons, when talking about the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Occultist, I’ll be focusing mostly on DPS trinkets.

5. Raven’s Reach / Gnarly Knuckles

Depending on whether you go Warlock (ranged damage) or Aspirant (melee damage), the Raven’s Reach or the melee equivalent, the Gnarly Knuckles, is a good option when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets.

4. Greater Heartseeker

More crit is always good. Unfortunately, Occultist isn’t usually fast enough to make good use of the Snappy Swig, so Greater Heartseeker is the next best thing.

3. Nautical Compass

Occultist, no matter what position he’s in, makes good use of all of the positive tokens you can get from the Nautical Compass. If he’s an Aspirant in the frontline, he’ll need the defensive tokens to make up for his overall squishiness.

If he’s a Warlock in the backlines, the defense bonuses help make up for the self-damage he inflicts as he gains Unchecked Power tokens.

Either way, he’ll benefit significantly from the Crit and Strength tokens when it’s time to unleash his big attack, whether that’s Anamnesis or The Burning Stars.

2. Sparkleball

Occultist is one of the characters who hits multiple enemies regularly, making him a great candidate for the Sparkleball.

If he’s a Warlock in the back row, he’ll be using Abyssal Artillery as his bread and butter attack, so you’ll be able to soften up and debuff the enemy backline.

If he’s an Aspirant on the frontlines, he’ll be able to debuff all enemies once he unleashes his Anamnesis attack, which hits everyone.

1. Greater Sharpness Charm

As a DPS character, when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets, Occultist is as good a candidate as any other for a Greater Sharpness Charm. Unless you’ve made the odd decision to go with a full support-focused Ritualist (why?), Occultist is going to be focused on dealing damage, and the Greater Sharpness Charm increases damage significantly.

Occultist Overall Best-in-Slot

I think the best in slot in terms of the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Occultist depends on if you’re running with a backline or a frontline Occultist. If it’s a Warlock, I’d say Greater Sharpness Charm and Sparkleball. If it’s an Aspirant, I’d say Greater Sharpness Charm and Nautical Compass. If I had to pick just one, I’d say Greater Sharpness Charm and Nautical Compass.

Leper – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

Last but not least, we have the Leper, who deals heavy damage when he’s not inflicted with Blindness and is a hearty, sturdy frontliner. While Leper deals a lot of damage, he’s only able to hit ranks 1 and 2, so no matter what he’s going to be functioning as a tank because in any given run, he’ll have nothing else to do on a lot of turns.

As a result, when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Leper, it’s best to consider a mixture of tanking and damage trinkets.

5. Gnarly Knuckles

Heavy melee damage is pretty much Leper’s big thing, so when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Leper, Gnarly Knuckles are a no brainer.

Still, there are better options for trinkets on Leper, so keep an eye out for an upgrade.

4. Clenching Claws

Leper doesn’t need the passive regeneration from the Befuddling Sundial as much as Man-at-Arms does, because if he gets low on health he can bounce back easily with his Solemnity self-heal skill.

In my opinion that makes the 3rd best tanking item for Man-at-Arms, the Clenching Claws, the second best tanking item for Leper.

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Leper, Clenching Claws allows him to inflict a variety of status effects, including Stun, the best debuff, on any enemies that attack him.

3. Greater Sharpness Charm

Leper has the highest base damage of any character, so when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets, the Greater Sharpness Charm has the biggest overall impact on Leper.

Leper hits like a truck to begin with, but with the Greater Sharpness Charm, perhaps even paired with a Gnarly Knuckles or a Goading Gargoyle, you’re going to see eye-popping damage numbers coming up on a regular basis.

2. Reverberating Redoubt

Reverberating Redoubt is perhaps even more effective on Leper than it is on the Man-at-Arms. Leper tends to need a ton of turns because he constantly has to blow turns on removing his Blindness and buffing himself to prepare for his big attacks.

Leper is also the slowest character overall so he doesn’t need any help getting 2 or less speed to ensure that he’s getting the full benefit of the Reverberating Redoubt.

With the Reverberating Redoubt, Leper gets a lot more room to use all his setup moves in preparation for dealing big damage.

1. Goading Gargoyle

The Goading Gargoyle is definitely the number one pick when it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Leper.

Leper’s main drawback is he’s constantly inflicting Blindness on himself. Goading Gargoyle not only makes him nearly immune to Blindness, but also flips the script and makes it so Leper is continually giving himself Strength tokens, making him even more damaging.

If you get this thing on a run, the effectiveness of your Leper increases dramatically. You can even change your skill loadout, because you’ll no longer need to roll with Reflection, which is the skill Leper uses to remove Blindness.

Overall Leper Best-in-Slot

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinket for Leper, the best-in-slot is easy. You want a Goading Gargoyle, that’s for sure.

Maybe there is some personal preference for whether you should get a Greater Sharpness Charm or a Reverberating Redoubt, but in my opinion I’d go with the Reverberating Redoubt every time.

Greater Sharpness Charm just can’t compete with all the extra turns you get from taunting, and all the extra turns Leper needs because of how his kit works.

Vestal – Darkest Dungeon 2 Best Trinkets

Vestal is a hard support with little offensive utility. For that reason, when it comes to her Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets, you’re mostly going to want trinkets that increase her survivability and increase the potency of her healing skills.

5. Greater Protectorate

The Greater Protectorate is simple, but effective. It improves the power of Vestal’s nuke heal as well as her secondary healing ability, Mantra. Worth a slot if you can’t find anything better.

4. Rousing Recorder

Rousing Recorder, or similar passive buff items like Hastening History, are a good option in terms of Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets because they increase Vestal’s ability to spread positive tokens throughout the team.

3. Appalling Apron

The Appalling Apron is a pretty good option as it provides healing ability and increased survivability. The downside of -50% healing received is worrisome, but it doesn’t affect Vestal’s regen ability, only her nuke heal. Vestal is pretty tanky, so it’s rare she’s the person who needs to be bailed out to begin with, especially with the Appalling Apron making her effectively immune to DoTs.

2. Ghastly Gruel

As with any other healer, Ghastly Gruel is a top tier trinket for Vestal and you’re going to want to keep an eye out for it. It massively increases her potency as a healer.

1. Icon of Light

Icon of Light is one of Vestal’s hero-specific trinkets and it’s amazing on her. Vestal’s party-wide regen skill is one of her best skills and Icon of Light nearly doubles its effectiveness, in addition to giving Vestal the added utility of granting minor stress healing throughout the fight. When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Vestal, Icon of Light is top tier.

Overall Vestal Best-in-Slot

When it comes to the Darkest Dungeon 2 best trinkets for Vestal, I’d say #1 and #2 on this list would be the gold standard to shoot for. Between the Ghastly Gruel and Icon of Light, you’re keeping your team topped off with 5 HP regen tokens consistently and passively tossing out 3 HP heals on a regular basis (Ghastly Gruel’s +Healing modifier improves its own heal from 2 to 3).

That’s more than Occultist tends to heal with his single target heal, and it doesn’t even mention the power of Vestal’s nuke heal with the +healing added. And the added stress heal is no joke. If you’re rocking both consecration skills, that stress healing mitigates a significant amount of stress over time.
