How to Get ALL Gotham Knights Ability Points

This Gotham Knights Ability Points Guide will teach players how to get ALL of the Ability Points in Gotham Knights and fully complete each character’s ability tree.

If you’re playing Gotham Knights, you might be wondering how many Gotham Knights ability points you can obtain and if it’s possible to fully complete the ability trees for each of your characters.

The answer is that yes, it is possible to get enough Gotham Knights ability points to get every single skill in each character’s ability tree.

In order to do that, you need to reach max level in New Game+ and collect a variety of ability points that are awarded in various side missions. This Gotham Knights Ability Points Guide will teach you how to get all those extra ability points.

Without further ado, let’s get into the Gotham Knights Ability Points Guide.

Ignore that I’m missing a point here. You get the last point from Most Wanted Missions, which are a real pain. I’ll explain when we get there.

1. Reach Max Level – Gotham Knights Ability Points

The easiest and best way to get Gotham Knights ability points is to level up. One your first playthrough, the level cap is 30. Once you’ve completed the game, you’ll unlock New Game+, which raises the level cap to 40 and allows you to gain 10 more ability points.

Once you’ve reached level 40, you need 7 more Gotham Knights ability points to buy every skill in the tree.

That said, I should point out, it’s definitely not necessary to collect all the Gotham Knights ability points except for completion’s sake. Only half of each character’s abilities are actually useful. If you pick the good ones, being level 30 with no extra Gotham Knights ability points is good enough to buy every useful ability.

You’re reading this guide though, so you’re going to want them all. After reaching max level, you need 7 more. Here’s where you get them.

2. Finish the Character Story Side Missions – Gotham Knights Ability Points

As you progress through the game, you’ll see icons on the map (usually inside the Belfry itself) representing your chosen character.

When you visit those icons, you’ll view a scene that’s specific to the character you’re currently playing as.

In terms of extra Gotham Knights ability points, you need to fully complete one character’s story side mission to get an extra ability point.

Some people are claiming you need to finish every character’s story. That wasn’t the case for me. I got the AP after completing just one, and I later completed all of them to see if I’d get another, and I did not.

Nevertheless, it’s not hard to do them all. Once you’ve reached Case File 6, they’ll be available for every character.

Most of them are inside the Belfry, so you can just watch them all for one character, switch to another and watch them all. The exceptions are Batgirl and Nightwing, who each have some scenes outside the Belfry. For those you can just pop out and watch them, then immediately return to the Belfry.

So you get an extra point from the Character Stories. That leaves 6 more. Onto the next one.

3. Complete Every Training Exercise – Gotham Knights Ability Points

For the second of the extra Gotham Knights ability points, you get it from completing every training available at the Belfry.

New training missions unlock as you progress through the game and unlock new momentum abilities. Fully completing every training requires you to unlock the final momentum ability on at least one character.

In order to get the last momentum ability for a character, you need to be far enough in the game (around Case File 6), I believe you need to complete their Character Story side mission, and then you’ll unlock a challenge to defeat a certain number of enemies with their ultimate ability.

This is easiest to do on Red Hood, whose ultimate ability is a nuke. Every other character’s ultimate ability is some kind of low damage utility thing. Robin’s is probably the second easiest one. At least his deals decent damage.

Once you’ve got the last momentum ability, you’ll unlock the last training mission, which is for Fear. Complete that (and every other training mission) and you’ll get an extra ability point.

So when it comes to extra Gotham Knights ability points, now you’ve got 2. You just need 5 more.

4. Batarangs – Gotham Knights Ability Points

If you want all the Gotham Knights ability points, you’re going to need to collect all the Batarangs. There are 60 in total. If you get them all, you’ll snag another ability point to play with.

Collecting all the Batarangs will require a guide. Most are easily spotted as you fly over the city, but some are in very out of the way places that I can’t imagine anyone would just stumble upon, even if they were looking for them.

I’m not going to cover where to find all the Batarangs here, as that’s beyond the scope of this guide, but if you do collect them all, you’ll get another ability point.

That’s 3 now. Just need 4 more Gotham Knights ability points.

5. Historical Sites – Gotham Knights Ability Points

Next up when it comes to the extra Gotham Knights ability points, you need to visit all 40 historical sites that are spread throughout the city. This is a pretty tedious chore and you’re definitely going to need a guide for it.

You need to find a plaque in front of each of the historically relevant buildings. The plaques are sometimes not where you’d expect, even if you find the building. They do show up on scans, so that helps.

Around this time you may start to question whether or not the extra Gotham Knights ability points are actually worth it. You may start to question your sanity. Nevertheless I’m going to tell you where to get the remaining 4.

6. Street Art – Gotham Knights Ability Points

For the next of the extra Gotham Knights ability points, you need to find 12 street art. This isn’t nearly as bad as the Historical Sites one, since there are only 12.

They show up on scans so you just need to be in the general vicinity of one and you can look around in scan mode and find a big highlighted rectangle to scan.

Next up for the extra Gotham Knights ability points we have… you guessed it, another collection thing.

7. Talon Caches – Gotham Knights Ability Points

taloncache How to Get ALL Gotham Knights Ability Points

Once you’ve gotten the ability to unlock Court of Owls nests, you’ll be able to find 5 Talon Caches hidden throughout Gotham.

This is a hidden side quest. Nothing tells you to do this, but if you pass near one you’ll get a radio call from Alfred telling you to check out a strange energy reading in the area.

Each of the Talon Caches is a glowing green mural.

I actually do recommend you do this quest, especially on New Game+. There are only 5 and the rewards are pretty good. In addition to the ability point, each cache will give you some legendary materials, which are hard to come by, and you also unlock the Talon suit for transmog.

So if you’ve done all these things, you’ll only have one brutally tedious side quest remaining when it comes to extra Gotham Knights ability points…

8. Most Wanted – Gotham Knights Ability Points

gotham knights ability points

To get the last of the extra Gotham Knights ability points, you need to defeat every single enemy on the Gotham’s Most Wanted list.

I highly, highly, highly recommend you do not do this. For your own sanity.

There are 32 enemies on the list. There are only 10 to start with, but once you’ve defeated about 6 of them they dump another 25 onto the list.

Most Wanted enemies only appear rarely at Very Hard premeditated crimes, which already are rare, even at the end of the game.

Each night, if you’ve fully investigated, you’ll get maybe 2-3 Very Hard crimes at the end of the game. Out of those you’ll get 0-1 Most Wanted villains.

On top of that, the villains themselves are associated with specific factions. So the more you defeat, the more rare they become, because you’ll specifically need to beat Very Hard crimes from, for instance, Regulars or Freaks.

I spent hours doing this quest and I decided it’s just not worth it. It will be the very last thing you do after doing literally everything else in the game, and I estimate completing this quest takes longer than completing the game twice from start to finish.

All that said, Gotham’s Most Wanted is where you get the last of the extra Gotham Knights ability points. It’s absolutely 100% not worth it, but that is where you get it. May the odds be in your favor.

That about covers it when it comes to the Extra Gotham Knights Ability Points Guide. Be sure to check out the main page for the full list of games, or check out the Gotham Knights section for more guides for Gotham Knights.
