How to Get Octopath Traveler 2 BEST WEAPONS (Battle-Tested Weapons)

This Octopath Traveler 2 Best Weapons guide will teach players how to get all the battle-tested weapons, which are the best weapons in the game.

If you’re playing Octopath Traveler 2, you’re going to want to get all the Octopath Traveler 2 best weapons. In terms of stats, these are all the battle-tested weapons, which appear towards the end of the game. There are two ways to get the battle-tested weapons: the easy way and the hard way.

The EASY way is to use Partitio to buy them off of specific story-related NPCs towards the end of the game, usually after fully completing a character’s main story. The HARD way is to farm specific NPCs for them to drop them at a 2% drop rate.

I’m going to focus on the EASY way for the purposes of this guide.

Also, while the Battle-Tested Weapons are the best weapons in the game in terms of stats, there may be situations where you’d prefer to use other weapons. If you’re using the Armsmaster job, you’re going to want to use the Armsmaster Divine Weapons. If you’re focused on elemental damage, weapons that raise elemental damage are going to give you more bang for your buck.

With all that said, let’s get into the Octopath Traveler 2 Best Weapons guide.

1. Battle-Tested Blade – Octopath Traveler 2 Best Weapons

In order to get the Battle-Tested Blade, you need to find Bandelam, the NPC that Hikari defeated in the arena in Montwise. He’s relocated from Montwise to Crackridge Harbor: Anchorage. You should be able to fast travel directly to the dock.

From the dock, go up the ramp to the top, then go southeast. The path will take you up a little hill and there you’ll find Bandelam looking over the harbor.

From there you can steal, mug or purchase the weapon. As with all these weapons, I suggest purchasing it. I’m not sure when Bandelam appears here with the Battle-Tested Blade in his inventory, but I suspect it’s after completing Hikari’s main story. If he’s not there when you check, keep progressing through the character chapters and come back.

2. Battle-Tested Spear – Octopath Traveler 2 Best Weapons

When it comes to Octopath Traveler 2 best weapons, the Battle-Tested Spear is in the inventory of Benkei. In order to make him appear, you first need to complete Hikari’s main story. Then, visit Ku and on the righthand side of the path right before the entrance to the castle courtyard, you’ll see a quest giver NPC.

Talk to the quest giver (Mikka) and Benkei will appear and stand on the left side of the gate.

From there, as with all the other weapons, purchase, mug or steal the Battle-Tested Spear. You don’t have to complete the quest, you just have to start it.

3. Battle-Tested Dagger – Octopath Traveler 2 Best Weapons

The Battle-Tested Dagger is in the possession of Plukk, the thief from Castti’s chapter in Winterbloom. In order to get it to appear in her inventory, you need to complete a side quest that becomes available after completing Castti’s story.

First, go to Winterbloom and go into the mansion in the northwest part of the first area. Upstairs, talk to the little girl and receive the quest. Then, go to the pub in the thieves’ quarter (the same place where the boss fight against Plukk took place). Steal a letter from Plukk and bring it back to the quest giver. It’s an easy quest. It should only take a minute or two.

After you’ve completed the side quest, Plukk and her henchmen will start hanging out in the mansion’s garden.

Once they’re all working in the garden, you’re free to steal, purchase or mug the Battle-Tested Dagger off of Plukk.

4. Battle-Tested Axe – Octopath Traveler 2 Best Weapons

Next on the Octopath Traveler 2 best weapons list, the Battle-Tested Axe. This one is in the inventory of Shirlutto, the guide who helps Temenos in his final chapter. After you’ve completed Temenos’s main story, revisit the Nameless Village in Toto’haha.

Retrace your steps back to the entrance of the dungeon, which is at the far north end of the town. You have to go down a ladder and then up to follow the trail. There you’ll find Shirlutto.

Shirlutto has a quest to give you, but you don’t need to do it. Just lift the Battle-Tested Axe off of him with a path action.

5. Battle-Tested Bow – Octopath Traveler 2 Best Weapons

The Battle-Tested Bow belongs to Cohazeh, the mayor of the human side of Beasting Village. There is no quest involved for this weapon. After you’ve completed Ochette’s storyline, simply go to the east side of Beasting Village during the day and find Cohazeh there.
