Here are the top 5 best Of Monsters and Men songs. Of Monsters and Men are a great band, easily in my top 5 bands currently. I’ve listened to most of their discography multiple times over, so I think I have a pretty good idea of my personal favorites.
These are my top 5 best Of Monsters and Men songs.
5. Little Talks
This is the radio friendly unit shifter that most people are probably familiar with. And, fair enough, it’s a great song. I still love to sing along with it every time it comes on the radio. The vocals have a really cool timbre, the song is catchy as hell, the duet is endearing and the lyrics are memorable. Great song. Like almost every Of Monsters and Men song, this one has a kickass music video:
4. King and Lionheart
King and Lionheart is probably the first song that really got me into Of Monsters and Men. Especially the music video. I think the music video is amazing; it’s so visually interesting and creates a great aesthetic of fantasy mixed with this sort of seafaring, dark ages, hope-infused vibe that the band has become famous for.
3. Wild Roses
This is the newest entry to my favorite Of Monsters and Men songs. It’s just got a real heavy “freedom” vibe; it has that sort of Katy Perry “Roar” moment, but with a decidedly alternative folk approach. This is the kind of song you can throw on any time of the day and just vibe to. It’s a real pick-me-up.
Ethereal, meaningful, spiritual. This is a track that goes beyond ‘listenable’ and becomes ‘art’. The lyrics are poetic; the music video is intensely impactful, and the song itself feels like it takes on a spiritual quality. I feel like it’s possible to connect to something bigger than us by using this song as a conduit; this feels like the kind of music future humans will listen to.
Easily my favorite Of Monsters and Men song and solidly in the running for my favorite song of all time. I’ve listened to this song hundreds of times. I think it’s incredible. I think the music video is mesmerizing and otherworldly, and just like Human, I think it reaches a level of spiritual connection that most music can only hope to aspire to. This song has been an enormous influence on me and I feel like I’ve downloaded it into my soul.
