ALL 30 Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

This Fae Tactics Weapons Unlocking Guide will teach you how to unlock ALL 3 of the Fae Tactics Weapons for every character.

If you’re playing Fae Tactics, you’re going to want to know how to unlock all of the Fae Tactics weapons, which Fae Tactics weapons are good, and what each of the Fae Tactics weapons is capable of. Without knowing which weapons are available, several of the weapons are easily missed. This Fae Tactics weapons guide will teach you how to unlock all of the available weapons in Fae Tactics.

There are 10 playable characters in Fae Tactics and each character has 3 weapons, making 30 Fae Tactics weapons available total. Obviously each character has a default weapon, so that leaves 20 Fae Tactics weapons to unlock. This Fae Tactics Weapons Guide will cover all the available weapons.

For the most part, you unlock weapons by having a characters achieve certain kill counts after passing certain story missions.

Peony – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

Peony’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Soul Flame, the Rangarok and the Earthshaker.

Soul Flame

fae tactics weapons guide soul flame
  • Ranged
  • Element may be altered by Scroll
  • +10% Reaction Chance
  • Wait Skill: Chain
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: This is the weapon you’ll use for Peony whenever the Ragnarok’s Ice element is a liability. The ability to change the element by equipping different scrolls makes it her most versatile weapon. Typically you’ll be using it with Electric or Water scrolls, to deal extra damage against Arcane enemies and Fire enemies (that deal extra damage to ice). Otherwise, Ragnarok tends to be better overall.

Ragnarok

fae tactics weapons guide ragnarok
  • Ice Element
  • Melee
  • Pierce
  • Wait Skill: Reflex
  • How to Unlock: Complete the story mission to fix the ice machine early on in Doro

Review: This is probably Peony’s best weapon, all things considered, as long as enemies aren’t Fire types. Peony has good movement range and the combo ability that melee weapons get comes in handy a lot more often than the Chain wait skill the Soul Flame gets, especially considering other characters get innate chain on their weapons — no wait skill required.

Ice is a very useful element and the Ragnarok’s Pierce skill allows it to hit two targets per attack. The Ice Reaction Ability (Cold Snap), which attacks every adjacent square with a chance to inflict Freeze, is also pretty good.

Earthshaker

fae tactics weapons guide earthshaker
  • Earth Element
  • Melee
  • Push
  • Wait Skill: Protector
  • How to Unlock: Obtained during the story after fixing the Dwarven Workshop

Review: Despite being Peony’s last weapon, the Earthshaker is probably her worst. It give Peony the Protector wait skill, but Peony herself isn’t particularly tanky, so you don’t really want her to be taking all the hits for your team.

The Push property is useful, as there are a lot of maps where you can OHKO enemies by knocking them into water or into holes.

The only reason you’d really want to use this weapon is if you’re fighting a lot of Wind elemental enemies, but even then I think it’s probably better to use the Soul Flame with an Earth scroll.

Chico – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide chico

Chico’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Collar of the Pack, the Cinderhund Harness, and the Tide Leash.

Click here for the full Chico Character Guide

Collar of the Pack

fae tactics weapons guide collar of hte pack
  • +5 Def
  • +20% Back Attack Damage
  • Wait Skill: Protector
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: The Collar of the Pack is Chico’s tanking weapon, and it’s extremely useful during the early parts of the game, especially before you unlock better tanks like Tom Tildrum or the Dust Lute summon.

It’s non-elemental so there are no situations where Chico can take extra damage as a tank. It’s an extremely solid, no-frills weapon. Use it if you need a tank and don’t have Tom or a Dust Lute.

Cinderhund Harness

fae tactics weapons guide cinderhund harness
  • Attacks gain Fire Element
  • Burn on Hit
  • Isolated
  • Wait Skill: Wrath
  • How to Unlock: Drops off the Barghest enemies in Grunhold

Review: Good for a more offense-oriented Chico. The main thing that makes this weapon strong is the Isolated trait, which causes it to deal significantly more damage to enemies that have no nearby allies.

It causes burns and Wrath is a pretty decent wait skill, allowing Chico to snowball offensively. It’s Chico’s go-to weapon against Ice and Earth enemies, and the weapon you’ll generally have equipped to him until you unlock the Tide Leash.

Tide Leash

fae tactics weapons guide tide leash
  • Stormwulf
  • Chain
  • Wait Skill: Exploit
  • How to Unlock: Story mission to defeat Dr. Simon. Unlocked after beating the Earth boss by regularly using/defeating enemies with Chico.

Review: This is Chico’s best weapon against anything except Earth and arguably Ice opponents (which are weak to Fire). The main reason it’s so good is it has an innate Chain property, which means every attack from Chico chains to up to 4 enemies.

Stormwulf grants Chico 40 resistance that’s not listed in the in-game description, making him slightly sturdier with this weapon equipped.

Payachin – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide payachin

Payachin’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Rain Charm, the River Charm, and Ahtri’s Crown.

Click here for the full Payachin Character Guide

Rain Charm

fae tactics weapons guide rain charm
  • Arc Attack
  • +5 Evd
  • Wait Skill: Blessed
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: There’s not a huge difference between Payachin’s weapons. The Rain Charm gets an Arc Attack that deals extra damage to flying enemies and have increased vertical range, which allows him to reach more enemies from water. It seems to do slightly higher damage than the River Charm on average.

River Charm

fae tactics weapons guide river charm
  • Beam Attack
  • +1 Range
  • Wait Skill: Blessed
  • How to Unlock: Unlocks during a story mission early in the game

Review: The River Charm is a beam weapon, which means it’s able to hit multiple targets in a line. The +1 Range makes up for the lost vertical range from losing the Arc Attack property.

Since it doesn’t deal bonus damage against flying enemies, its single-target damage is slightly lower, but Payachin doesn’t have exceptional single-target damage output anyway. The AoE on this weapon allows him to apply defense down to multiple enemies at once. I’d say it’s his best weapon, overall.

Ahtri’s Crown

fae tactics weapons guide ahtri's crown
  • Melee Attack
  • Cascade
  • Wait Skill: Reflex
  • How to Unlock: Save Ruby during the prison break early in the game. Much later, towards the end of the game, if you have an evolved Payachin, Ruby will unlock a story mission for this weapon after beating the Fire boss.

Review: This weapon increases Payachin’s defense since it’s a melee weapon, but other than that, there’s no real reason to use this. Even though it has a Cascade effect, which sends a shockwave behind the target, you lose out on too much. It’s very hard to activate Payachin’s aquatic (+100% damage) bonus with a melee weapon.

Orowantus – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide orowantus

Orowantus’s Fae Tactics weapons are the Family Keepsake, Kim’s Emerald Relic, and the Cursed Arrowhead.

Click here for the full Orowantus Character Guide

Family Keepsake

fae tactics weapons guide family keepsake
  • Arc Attack
  • True Sight
  • Wait Skill: Aim
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: The passive True Sight on this weapon is probably the best thing about Orowantus as a character, since evasion rates in Fae Tactics are so ridiculously high. Earth isn’t a particularly useful element for most of the game except in the early part of the game up through where you fight Pazuzu and the Wind boss. Orowantus shines in those maps thanks to this weapon.

Kim’s Emerald Relic

fae tactics weapons guide kim's emerald relic
  • Arcane Element
  • Arc Attack
  • -5 Def on Hit
  • Wait Skill: Shadow Step
  • How to Unlock: Story mission in Doro early in the game

Review: A lot of other characters (Claudia, Peony, Matilda) do a lot better with the Arcane element, although Orowantus does have a decent chance to inflict Haunt.

Arcane is kind of a weird choice for Orowantus because you’d only want to equip it against Fire enemies that are strong against her Earth and Ice weapons. So it’s more of a backup weapon than anything. The thing is, though, if you’re fighting Fire enemies, you’re probably not going to want to use Orowantus at all.

Cursed Arrowhead

fae tactics weapons guide cursed arrowhead
  • Ice Element
  • Starfall Attack
  • Wait Skill: Reinforce
  • How to Unlock: When fighting the 3 Gorgon sisters towards the middle of the game, win the battle by subduing all three rather than defeating them. I.e. Knock them out, but don’t kill them.

Review: The Starfall property on this weapon is basically a damage bonus. It increases your vertical attack position which tends to activate the Bird’s Eye damage bonus. That’s great and all, but the Family Keepsake can activate the Bird’s Eye damage bonus just by climbing to a higher position and it deals even more damage by inflicting poison.

Since the Family Keepsake also gets True Sight (which is extremely useful), I’d say it edges out the Cursed Arrowhead. Unless, of course, you’re fighting Water or Earth type enemies that are weak to Ice.

Pichon – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide pichon

Pichon’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Worn Gloves, the Colonel’s Mitt, and the Hand Wraps.

Click here for the full Pichon Character Guide

Worn Gloves

fae tactics weapons guide worn gloves
  • +20% Reaction Chance
  • Recovers 15% Mb when Evading
  • Wait Skill: Sprint
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: Pichon’s default weapon is nice, but it’s totally outclassed by the Hand Wraps, which are pretty much a straight-up upgrade. The only thing they have that could be considered worthwhile is the Sprint wait skill, which is definitely useful, just not useful enough to justify equipping the Worn Gloves.

Colonel’s Mitt

fae tactics weapons guide colonel's mitt
  • Fire Element
  • Triple Hit Combo
  • Cripple on Hit
  • Wait Skill: Reflex
  • How to Unlock: Unlocked via a story mission early on in Doro.

Review: If you’re specifically in need of a fire elemental melee character… you should probably use Chico. Pichon, as a character, relies on high evasion and the Parry reaction skill. The Fire gloves don’t get Parry, they get the drastically inferior Counterattack, which doesn’t avoid damage.

The triple combo is nice, but compared to the Worn Gloves, Pichon loses out on the movement range from Sprint and the vastly superior Parry reaction skill. Reflex would be a great wait skill… if these gloves had Parry.

Hand Wraps

fae tactics weapons guide hand wraps
  • Whirlwind
  • +100% Crit Damage
  • Pierce
  • Wait Skill: Agility
  • How to Unlock: Unlocked via a story mission in the middle of the game.

Review: Once you unlock these (which is a real pain, by the way), there’s no reason to ever equip Pichon with any of his other weapons. These deal the most damage, grant him the highest evade, and can attack multiple targets via the Pierce property.

Whirlwind grants Pichon 100% crit chance after every evade, which synergizes well with the 100% crit damage bonus on this weapon.

If you’re having trouble with the battle that unlocks this weapon, here’s a tip: he always tries to attack Pichon from behind, so make sure your back is facing away from the water when his ultra is up so he doesn’t knock you off the platform.

Erisolde – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide erisolde

Erisolde’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Jaeger, the Repeater, and the Sorcerifle.

Click here for the full Erisolde Character Guide

Jaeger

fae tactics weapons guide jaeger
  • +2 Range
  • Wait Skill: Aim
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: Erisolde’s default weapon is definitely her best weapon. It has insane range (especially with the Aim skill), and when you give her a Strigantr scroll (+Movement Range), she becomes incredibly mobile. Erisolde’s other weapons are huge downgrades.

Repeater

fae tactics weapons guide repeater
  • +2 Spd
  • +1 Move
  • Wait Skill: Sprint
  • How to Unlock: Story mission toward the middle of the game

Review: Sacrifices Erisolde’s huge range for +1 Move and the Sprint Wait Skill. It’s just not worthwhile. Erisolde’s range is the whole reason to use her. She’s extremely fragile; you don’t want to be sending her into the front lines to deal damage.

Sorcerifle

fae tactics weapons guide sorcerifle
  • Earth Element
  • 3 Round Burst
  • Drains HP Each Turn
  • Wait Skill: Exploit
  • How to Unlock: Unlocks via a story sequence after defeating the Earth boss if you’ve been using Erisolde regularly

Review: Not good. Not only is Earth a relatively weak element, but the HP drain each turn is a huge drawback. Erisolde gets up to 3 turns per round thanks to her Encore skill. That means she can kill herself in about 2 rounds purely from the passive drain effect on this gun.

The Exploit wait skill and the 3 round burst both make this a nice damage-dealing weapon, but the poor elemental typing and the HP drain really hold it back.

Claudia – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide claudia

Claudia’s available Fae Tactics weapons are hte Magitech Rifle, Doran’s Sidearm, and the Hand of the Occluded.

Click here for the full Claudia Character Guide

Magitech Rifle

fae tactics weapons guide magitech rifle
  • Water Element
  • Synergy
  • Wait Skill: Witch Ward
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: Claudia’s default weapon is pretty standard. Nothing to write home about. Use it against Fire elemental enemies, but otherwise stick to her other weapons, both of which have great on-hit effects.

Doran’s Sidearm

fae tactics weapons guide doran's sidearm
  • Fire Element
  • Chain
  • Wait Skill: Witch Ward
  • How to Unlock: Unlocks from a story scene with Claudia after camping in Smaragden towards the middle of the game

Review: Claudia’s best weapon, as long as you’re not fighting against Water elemental enemies. Thanks to its passive Chain skill, which bounces all of Claudia’s attacks to up to 4 total enemies, it pumps out a lot of damage. The Chain skill even applies to Claudia’s ultra, which will devastate all enemies in a huge area every time she’s able to cast it.

Hand of the Occluded

fae tactics weapons guide hand of the occluded
  • Arcane Element
  • Splash
  • The unseen color
  • Wait Skill: Witch Ward
  • How to Unlock: Obtained by defeating the Wendigo late in the game

Review: A good backup if you’re facing off against Water-type enemies. The Splash effect isn’t quite as powerful or useful as the Chain effect, but it’s better than nothing.

Red – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide red

Red’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Red Eye Blade, the Blue Eye Blade, and the Grave Blade.

Click here for the full Red Character Guide

Red Eye Blade

fae tactics weapons guide red eye blade
  • Fire Element
  • +5 Mb Regen
  • Passing Blade
  • Wait Skill: Shadow Step
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: Shadow Step is kind of nice because it allows Red to approach enemies on his own without being targeted. Other than that, there’s not much practical difference between his Fire sword and his Ice sword. Use whichever one is appropriate against the enemies on any given map.

Blue Eye Blade

fae tactics weapons guide blue eye blade
  • Ice Element
  • Vamp
  • Passing Blade
  • Wait Skill: Sprint
  • How to Unlock: Defeat enemies with Red’s ultra repeatedly after unlocking the Dwarven Workshop

Review: The Fire and Ice weapons are pretty similar. Red himself is extraordinarily strong, but you should probably just pick whichever weapon is appropriate for your current map.

Grave Blade

fae tactics weapons guide grave blade
  • Electric Element
  • +2 Range/Pull
  • Combo
  • Wait Skill: Exploit
  • How to Unlock: Defeat enemies with Red’s ultra repeatedly after defeating the Fire boss

Review: Red’s most interesting weapon. It’s ranged, it pulls enemies into Red’s melee attack range, and he follows up allies’ attacks just like he normally would with a melee weapon. Electric is a very strong element. It’s extremely interesting, but I wouldn’t say it’s far and away better than Red’s other weapons. Again, use whichever one has the most advantageous element for your current map.

Matilda – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide matilda

Matilda’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Chariot, the Chariot XII 05, and the Chariot MkII.

Click here for the full Matilda Character Guide

Chariot

fae tactics weapons guide chariot
  • Arcane Element
  • Spirit Link
  • Wait Skill: Arcane/Water/Earth Totem
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: All of Matilda’s weapons are available the moment you recruit here and there’s little difference between them other than the element and the bonus range on her Electric weapon.

The Arcane beam gets spirit Link which is alright if your team is stacked full of Arcane characters. I’m not sure why you would do that, though. The maximum bonus is only about as good as a single cast of the Rally Talisman.

Chariot XII 05

fae tactics weapons guide chariot XII 05
  • Electric Element
  • +1 Range
  • Wait Skill: Electric/Fire/Earth Totem
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: The +1 Range and the Electric typing make the Chariot XII 05 Matilda’s best weapon in general. Again, there isn’t a huge difference between her weapons.

Chariot MkII

fae tactics weapons guide chariot mkII
  • Wind Element
  • Synergy
  • Wait Skill: Wind/Ice/Water Totem
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: The Wind beam has Synergy, which means that her Haste assist also applies to herself, which is a decent enough bonus. I’d say this weapon is roughly equal to the Electric version and you should use whichever one has a better element for your current map.

Tom Tildrum – Fae Tactics Weapons Guide

fae tactics weapons guide tom tildrum

Tom Tildrum’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Gourmet Fish, the Truffle Shovel, and the Elven Cleaver.

Click here for the full Tom Tildrum Character Guide

Gourmet Fish

fae tactics weapons guide gourmet fish
  • +50% Healing
  • Splash
  • Wait Skill: Snack
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: Snack is a surprisingly useful skill and, thanks to the Splash effect, this weapon will be inflicting Freeze on enemies left and right. A pretty decent weapon, but it doesn’t have the Protector wait skill which means Tom’s tankiness totally goes to waste.

Truffle Shovel

fae tactics weapons guide truffle shovel
  • Burrow
  • +1 Move
  • -10 Def on Hit
  • Wait Skill: Protector
  • How to Unlock: Story mission in the later portion of the game if you’ve been using Tom regularly

Review: Between the Truffle Shovel’s Burrow skill and it’s Protector skill, Tom’s defense tends to hover around 200+ with this weapon equipped, making him capable of shrugging off onslaughts from enemies no other character could hope to survive. On top of that, his counterattacks have a high chance to freeze opponents. Definitely Tom’s best weapon.

Elven Cleaver

fae tactics weapons guide elven cleaver
  • +5 Def/Res on Kill
  • +25% Chance to Taunt Enemies
  • Cascade
  • Wait Skill: Snack
  • How to Unlock: From a story mission after unlocking Ikaido

Review: Cascade makes this weapon slightly more offense oriented than his other weapons, and it sort of splits the difference between them. He’s not as good of a healing with his Snack skill as he is with the Gourmet Fish, since he gets no healing bonus.

He’s not as tanky as he is with the Truffle Shovel because the Def/Res on kill pales in comparison to the defense from Burrow and Protector. This is sort of a jack of all trades, master of none weapon and as a result it’s probably his weakest weapon overall.

That about covers it when it comes to the Best Fae Tactics Weapons Guide. Be sure to check out the Games Section or the Main Page for more guides like this. Click here for more content related to Fae Tactics.
