This Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests Guide will explain how to fulfill all of the requests for special photos in the Research Camp area, including pictures themselves to help.
If you’re playing Pokemon Snap, you’re going to want to get all the special photos you can, including fulfilling all the various requests that you get throughout the game. Some of these requests can be VERY tricky to fulfill, even if you know exactly what to do, let alone trying to figure it out on your own. I’ve completed all the requests for the Pokemon Snap Research Camp area, so you can use this Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests Guide to help finish any quests that you’re stuck on in the Pokemon Snap Research Camp.

This is the Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests Guide. I’ve beaten the game and I’m going through each area in order and finishing out all the requests, so check back in a few days for the next request area.
These are all my own photos from the fulfilled requests, so some are better than others, the game sticks you with the first photo that fulfilled the request, as far as I know there’s no way to replace it was a better quality photo.
1. An Eevee Party – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
The Pokemon Snap An Eevee Party request is a tough one. It’s tough to figure out and tough to execute. It has a lot of steps and you have a very short period of time to complete them. Even if you know exactly what to do, doing it within the time limit is still somewhat difficult.
Here’s how to complete this one. First, be on the 2nd route for the Pokemon Snap research center. Use the scan function near the stairs to take the side route into the lab. Once you’re in there, immediately start zooming to slow yourself down. Scan the TV to release the Cutieflies hidden behind it. They’ll scatter around the room. While they’re doing that, turn to the sleeping Stoutland. Throw one Illumina Orb at it and then immediately scan to wake it up.
Now, look up towards the ceiling in the middle of the room. There will be a Cutiefly there. Play music and then throw an Illumina Orb at it after a few seconds, and it’ll collect all the other Cutieflies and fly down to the middle of the room and start flying around the Eevee.
While this is going on, keep your music active, keep Eevee in frame, and keep chucking orbs at it. Eevee should eventually sit down while the flies buzz around its head. That’s the photo you need (pictured above) to fulfill the Pokemon Snap An Eevee Party request.
This will take you multiple tries, for sure, because if you don’t do everything fast, you’ll naturally leave the lab before all the animations have time to play out.
2. A Cheeky Pose – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
My first photo of the Pokemon Snap A Cheeky Pose request isn’t great, but it’s not a very hard request to complete anyway, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
First, be on the 1st route of the Pokemon Snap Research Camp stage, where Stoutland and Meowth are outside. As you approach the east side of the map, just before you get to the campfire, you’ll see a few Cutieflies hiding in the flowers. All you have to do is hit one with an Illumina Orb to flush it out, then use your music tool. It’ll do its typical dance animation, and then at the end it will put its hands on its cheeks.
Capture a Cutiefly doing its hands-on-cheeks pose and you’ll complete the Pokemon Snap A Cheeky Pose request.
3. Bunnelby Bursts Out – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
The Pokemon Snap Bunnelby Bursts Out request is harder to execute than it is to figure out. The steps are very simple. First, be on the 1st route in the Pokemon Snap Research Camp area, where Stoutland is outside and Meowth is sleeping by the car.
On the east side of the area, near the campfire and the Crystalbloom, there’s a Bunnelby hiding. It alternates between 3 holes. It follows a predictable pattern of right, left, middle. All you have to do is hit it with an Illumina Orb and then immediately hit it with a Fluffruit to make it pop out of whatever hole it’s in doing a super jump.
If you’re too late on the fruit, the orb will wear off and it’ll just do a normal jump. It needs to still be illuminated when it jumps, hitting it with the fruit while it’s illuminated doesn’t seem to be enough.
Snap a photo of the Bunnelby during its jump (I think I got a pretty good one), and you’ll complete the Pokemon Snap Bunnelby Bursts Out request.
4. A Pup at Heart – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
The Pokemon Snap A Pup at Heart request can be a little tricky. The triggers seem to be a little finicky and they don’t always work, so this is going to take multiple tries.
First, be on the 1st route for the Pokemon Snap Research Camp, the one where you start at the North end and Stoutland and Meowth are outside. You need to feed Stoutland multiple times until it runs to the middle of the stage. Try to get this step done as early as possible. I’ve seen it take as few as 2 fruits, and as many as 5, and I’ve found that throwing Illumina Orbs at it makes it more likely to happen, but that might be my imagination.
Once Stoutland is running to the middle of the stage, turn around and whack the Trubbish on the table with a Fluffruit and it’ll spray poison on Eevee, which will then hop down and run to the middle of the stage.
As soon as you hit Trubbish with the fruit, don’t bother waiting for the Eevee animation to play out, just throw a bunch of fruit on the ground between Stoutland and where Eevee ends up (which is a little closer to the table) so that they start getting lured together.
Once the two pokemon are near each other and facing each other, they’ll lock eyes and stare at each other. At this point, you can trigger the animation by throwing orbs at them and taking pictures of their staredown. I don’t believe just orbs or just the shutter noise is enough, I think it has to be both, but again this trigger is really finicky and it doesn’t seem to always happen.
You’ll know you’ve done it when Stoutland starts jumping around. Snap a photo of that and the Pokemon Snap A Pup at Heart request will be complete.
5. Say Hello to Your Neighbors – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
What makes the Pokemon Snap Say Hello to Your Neighbors request a little tough is that Starly eat Fluffruit really slowly and its spatial awareness isn’t very good, so you have to land fruit basically right in its eye-line, super close to its face.
To get this photo, head to the 2nd route of the Pokemon Snap Research Camp where you start at the camp entrance and Rattata/Trubbish are hanging out by the campfire. In between the houses on the right are two Starly. All you have to do is get either Starly to eat two Fluffruits in a row.
Once your chosen Starly has eaten its second Fluffruit, it’ll play its happy animation like normal, then it will turn directly toward you and wave its wing as you see in the photo above. Capture that pose and you’ll fulfill the Pokemon Snap Say Hello to Your Neighbors request.
If you want a closer shot, you need to get the Starly to eat the fruit early.
6. The Empty Room – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
To fulfill the Pokemon Snap The Empty Room request, you need to be at the Pokemon Snap Research Camp on route 2, where Meowth isn’t sleeping outside.
Use your scan near the stairs to take the side route inside the lab. Once you get there, scan the attic area and just start throwing Fluffruit up there blindly. The Meowth seems to be toward the back on the side of the attic with the ladder, so focus your shots there. It may take a little luck and maybe a couple of tries, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to wake Meowth up.
If you’re able to activate the Meowth, it’ll walk up to the ladder and hiss at you. Capture a photo of that (as shown above) and you’ll fulfill the Pokemon Snap The Empty Room request.
7. Audino’s Favorite Pastime – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
The Pokemon Snap Audino’s Favorite Pastime request isn’t too hard to execute, but it’s difficult to figure out because the description implies that you need to use the music tool, which has absolutely nothing to do with this request. So, the description turns out to be a bit of a red herring.
You have to be on the Pokemon Snap Research Camp 2nd route, where Audino is outside near the table. When the route begins, as you get near the stairs, start luring the Cutiefly in the flowers near the stairs toward the Audino by throwing Fluffruit in front of it.
When the Cutiefly gets close enough, it’ll automatically fly around a little and then dance next to Audino, who will then join in with the dance. The first photo I got of this (above) isn’t very clear, but it’s not hard to get a photo of Audino dancing.
Try to do it early so you can get the photo from the front, since Audino will be facing the Cutiefly when it dances. Also, I’d recommend you throw Illumina Orbs at the Audino while it’s dancing, because it will do an extra move at the end that’s worth 4 stars.
8. At Home in the Dark – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
The Pokemon Snap At Home in the Dark request can be a little tricky. You have to capture a Rattata getting chased out of the space underneath the patio right as it’s coming out. Miss it by a few seconds and you’ll end up with a very useless one star photo of a Rattata.
What you need to do is lure the sleeping Meowth on the 1st route of the Pokemon Snap Research camp over toward the scan location by the stairs. You need to do this very quickly, because once Meowth gets over there and disappears under the stairs, it takes a while for the Rattata to come running out. If Meowth gets there too late, your view will be obscured by the stairs and you won’t be able to capture the Rattata emerging, which is what you need.
So, as soon as the stage starts, throw a Fluffruit a little to the left of Meowth to wake it up and get it headed in the right direction. Then lure it over to the stairs with more Fluffruits. Stoutland will be there, too, getting in the way and stealing fruits, so this might take a few tries.
Once Meowth gets close enough, it’ll run under the stairs. In my opinion, at that point, just start rapidly taking photos until the Rattata pops up because if you try to react to Rattata coming out, you’ll probably snap your photo too late and have to do it again. Remember, you need the photo of Rattata as it’s leaving. Get that shot and you’ll complete the Pokemon Snap At Home in the Dark request.
9. In the Middle of the Camp – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
For the Pokemon Snap In the Middle of the Camp request, you need to be on the 2nd route for the Pokemon Snap Research Camp. You need to ignore the campfire so you don’t scare off the Rattata, and activate the Sudowoodo by throwing an Illumina Orb at the Crystalbloom when his walking pattern takes him right up next to it.
Sudowoodo will then dance over to the middle of the map, and the Rattata and Trubbish will follow. Once they’ve all arrived, play music while looking at them and all 3 pokemon will dance. The request is fulfilled by the picture of the dancing Trubbish.
The best way to get a good shot here, in my opinion (the shot above is my first successful shot, not my best shot), you need to zoom in from the start to move slowly and wait until Sudowoodo is next to the Crystalbloom so you can activate him as soon as possible after the stage starts, giving the Trubbish time to slowly lumber over to the middle of the stage so you can snap a photo of him dancing before you’ve gotten too far away.
10. Borrowing Bravery – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
The Pokemon Snap Borrowing Bravery Request can be a little tricky to pull off, but it’s not too hard. All you have to do is throw an Illumina Orb at the Crystalbloom next to Sudowoodo when his walking path takes him next to it. What makes this tricky at first is that the Sudowoodo has to be caught in the initial burst, so if you throw it too early, or hit Sudowoodo with the Illumina Orb, you can mess it up.
Just be patient, wait until Sudowoodo is right next to the Crystalbloom, and then activate it. Sudowoodo will start dancing his way over to the center of the map. You can fulfill the Pokemon Snap Borrowing Bravery request the moment his animation changes, or any time as it’s dancing towards the middle of the map.
11. Research Data Rescue – Pokemon Snap Research Camp Requests
The Pokemon Snap Research Data Rescue request can be a little tricky because you only have a very limited time in the side area where the request is found.
First, you have to be on the first route for the Pokemon Snap Research Camp, where Stoutland, Eevee and Meowth are outside. You have to access the lab side area by scanning as you approach the stairs to find Dedenne. Once you’ve found Dedenne, you have to lure it to the computer tower, or the area in between the TV and the computer setup in order for it to charge up as you see in the shot above.
To lure Dedenne, use Fluffruit. It can be a little tricky to get it to face in the right direction, and it takes a really long time to eat the fruit, so the short period of time you have can be an issue, but you should be able to pull this one off in a couple of tries.
