Sword – Spear – Shield – Bow – Fist – Rail

Hades is fairly well-balanced, so keep in mind while you’re reading through this list that some weapons may simply fit certain builds or playstyles better. Even if there is a weapon that’s generally better than the others, another weapon may be better for you. That’s why I’m putting a big focus in breaking down the pros, cons and potential build synergies for each of the Hades Bow Aspects.

Without further ado, here is the Best Hades Bow Aspect Guide.

S Tier – Best Hades Bow Aspects

Aspect of Chiron

Aspect of Chiron is probably the weapon most players defeat Hades with for the first time. The playstyle it encourages is incredibly safe, it deals an immense amount of damage, and almost every God’s special boon benefits it.

Since it’s a multi-hit move, it gets value out of Zeus, Dionysus or Demeter. Since it does a lot of regular damage, it gets value out of Artemis or any of the other percentage damage increases. In my opinion, Artemis special and Aphrodite attack is the classic no-brainer go-to build for Chiron. It opens up the Heart Rend duo boon and if you want to beat the game for the first time easily, that’s going to be a one way ticket to victory.

Ultimately, at a higher level of play, shotgunning the standard bow special with the Charged Volley hammer upgrade deals more damage than what Chiron is able to put out, but that’s a lot less safe and requires you to have a pretty good reaction to boss’s attack patterns.

The reason I’m putting Chiron at S Tier is because it makes beating the game easy as soon as you unlock it. Even if its damage cap is lower than Zagreus (or Hera), unlocking it just feels like turning the difficulty level down to easy in a way unlocking other weapons doesn’t.

A Tier – Best Hades Bow Aspects

Aspect of Zagreus

Crit is alright, and the bow is good. Arguably, if you get used to dashing next to enemies and shotgunning them with the bow special, Zagreus outdamages Chiron. You can also get Charged Volley (+300% special damage) on this weapon, which is unavailable on both Rama and Chiron.

It’s really a question of, do you want the range and homing aspect of Chiron’s special, or the outright damage potential of Zagreus? I think that really is a legitimate question, and it’s entirely up to personal preference. The reason I’m ranking Zagreus lower than Chiron is I feel like Zagreus is a much higher skill cap and Chiron is the tool that will allow most players to get their first win, due to the safety its range provides and its extremely reliable damage output.

One thing to keep in mind with this weapon is that the crit bonus doesn’t affect the special, which basically means it has no bonus and there’s no point in leveling it up.

B Tier – Best Hades Bow Aspects

Aspect of Rama

The whole shtick with Aspect of Rama is that its normal attack deals a lot of damage, and it deals even more bonus damage if you tag enemies with its special first, so it’s sort of like a reverse Bow of Chiron.

Unfortunately for Rama, Chiron’s damage comes out way faster and is just way more consistent overall. The playstyle of Rama revolves around making use of dash attacks to speed up the charge of the bow, and then trying to nail the timing for power charges.

Once you’ve gotten the playstyle down, it certainly outputs a satisfying amount of damage, especially if you have a big percentage damage attack boon. Poseidon and Artemis are good options.

Is it better than a standard non-upgraded Aspect of Zagreus? I would argue that it is not. Shotgunning enemies with the standard bow special melts bosses with little effort. This thing chunks off boss health decently, but it takes longer and requires a lot more effort.

C Tier – Best Hades Bow Aspects

Aspect of Hera

Some people may disagree, but I hate this weapon. The only thing it’s good for is delivering Trippy Shot without the lobbing mechanic, which is better performed by the Aspect of Beowulf. Otherwise, casting spells normally with Aspect of Poseidon deals more damage more quickly and doesn’t require you to make use of the clunky charging mechanic.

To use this weapon, you have to press the spell button 3 times (if you’re using Infernal Soul) and then use the attack button. This delivers 3 spells and a standard attack. If you don’t have this weapon equipped and you press the spell button three times and then use the attack button, you also deliver 3 spells and a standard attack. So what is the point of this weapon?

Since its bonus doesn’t seem to be beneficial almost at all, in practice it’s just the Aspect of Zagreus before you level it up. The best way to use this weapon is to build it like you’d build the Aspect of Poseidon or the Aspect of Beowulf, but if you’re going for a casting build… just use one of those two weapons instead, since they actually get bonus damage.

I realize this weapon can do everything the Zagreus bow can do and more, I just find it so egregious that it has this special mechanic that doesn’t feel like it helps at all and you have to spend blood to unlock it.

That about covers it when it comes to the best Hades bow aspects.
