Trials of Mana Riesz Best Class TIER LIST

This Trials of Mana Riesz Best Class Tier List will give you a rundown of all of Riesz’s classes and give you a solid idea of which Trials of Mana Riesz class is right for your party.

If you’re playing the Trials of Mana Remake you’ll want to know the best class for Riesz. If you’re thinking about using Riesz in your party, you’re going to want to know the general consensus on which class is her best, which classes are just OK, and which are the worst.

Unlike some other characters (… Angela) there’s not too much debate about which of Riesz’s classes are the most worthwhile. So let’s get into it. This is the Trials of Mana Riesz Best Class Tier List.

Duran Angela Riesz Hawkeye Kevin Charlotte

Keep in mind when it comes to the Trials of Mana Riesz Best Class, we’re talking about the four 3rd tier endgame class options, not the 2nd class or the 4th class. 2nd class you choose because you’re headed toward the 3rd class and 4th class is what you get based on what you chose for the 3rd class – it’s sort of just a bonus power upgrade.

S Tier

I wouldn’t say that any of Riesz’s classes are S Tier. Usually, you think of S-Tier as gamebreaking damage, super OP, etc. Riesz, in all of her classes, doesn’t come close to achieving that. For the most part, she’s a support character rounded out with some competent attack power and attack magic. She improves your S Tier characters but she, herself, is not one of them.

A Tier

Starlancer was hands-down Riesz’s best class in the original game and I think it’s pretty well universally agreed that it still is. Not only does she gain multi-target stat buffs, but she also gets a passive skill that increases the power of her stat buffs so she, much like Edelfrei Duran, isn’t easily replaced with an item. Also, due to her class ability, her stat buffs are permanent for the duration of a battle.

She also gets all of party-wide auras. Attack Boost All 1-3, Magic Boost All 1/2, Defense and Magic Defense Boost All. Riesz is pretty much hardcoded to be a support character and Starlancer is her best support class. Her summon, Seraph, is also decently powerful, although she somewhat annoyingly blows through her MP casting it on nothing when she’s controlled by the AI.

Not a very flashy character, not a heavy hitter. She does moderate damage with attacks and spells, she’s relatively sturdy, and she powers up your other team members significantly. Does her job well. Not too flashy and very competent, much like her in-game personality.

B Tier

Like Duran, Riesz has a pretty big gap in usefulness between her best class (Starlancer), and her remaining classes. So, for the Trials of Mana Riesz Best Class Tier List, B Tier is empty.

C Tier

Fenrir Knight

Riesz’s Dark Side classes are almost exactly the same class, although Fenrir Knight has an OP costume and multi-target stat downs, which give it the edge. Dragon Master gets a little more attack power through its class ability, but Fenrir Knight gets the attacker passive, which evens it out again.

Both of them get more powerful stat downs than you’d get through an item, but that doesn’t make a big difference. These classes retain the same issues that they had in the original, plus some new ones.

First, multi-target stat downs are kind of a mediocre utility to begin with, but in the Remake, where Ninja Master is stronger since magic is better overall, there’s no reason you’d want Riesz’s non-damaging multi-target stat downs vs. Ninja Master’s moderately powerful damaging multi-target stat downs. Hawkeye is just so much better at this role, and it’s not even a particularly compelling role to be good at.

Second, almost every melee character can do what Fenrir Knight does — reduce stats. Kevin and Duran both get Broken Lines, which procs Defense Down on crit.

It’s not quite as potent as Fenrir Knight’s defense down, but the fact that both of those characters hits way harder than Riesz more than makes up the difference. Riesz even competes against herself, since her Light Side classes get Magic Smash, which applies Magic Attack/Defense down on crit.

Beyond that utility, though, Dark Side Riesz is just sort of a worse version of Duran that can cast a pretty cool, but ultimately not very useful summon. In the 4th class, Riesz’s Dark Side summons are significantly buffed, which is kind of nice. I’m not saying she’s terrible, but she’s sort of a jack of all trades, master of none. She’s like, the 3rd or 4th best at everything she does.

She’s not useless though. If you have her in your party, it is kind of nice to have all the enemies you encounter kind of automatically get all the stat downs applied to them. I don’t think it’s better than a variety of other choices you could make, but it’s not bad. Appropriate C Tier.

D Tier

Dragon Master

trials of mana remake riesz best class dragon master

There’s not too much to say about Dragon Master that wasn’t already covered when talking about Fenrir Knight, but I’ll reiterate that they’re pretty much exactly the same class.

Dragon Master gets some CS boosting passives, doesn’t get multitarget stat downs and arguably has a stronger summon since it applies poison. Other than that, they’re practically identical in terms of performance and function, with one distinct difference.

While the multitarget stat downs Fenrir Knight gets aren’t particularly great, at least having Fenrir Knight in your party means you’re almost always fighting enemies that are fully debuffed. That’s not amazing, but Dragon Master doesn’t get that and doesn’t get anything extra to make up for the fact that it doesn’t get that.

If you’re going Dark Side Riesz… go Fenrir Knight. For gameplay reasons, sure. But mostly because of the costume, it’s pretty much the most compelling thing about Dark Side Riesz overall.

riesz vanadis Trials of Mana Riesz Best Class TIER LIST

Vanadis is a really bad class. It has absolutely no advantage over Starlancer. It’s worse in every possible way.

Stat buffs? It only gets single-target stat ups, and they’re not even more potent in any way. Summon? Vanadis gets the worst of all of Riesz’s summons because it reduces your fight EXP to 1. Auras? Let me just… this bothers me so much, let me just talk about this because it perfectly illustrates how bad Vanadis is as a class.

Starlancer gets Attack Boost All II (+7% attack damage for the whole party). Vanadis gets Light of Guidance… +7% attack damage for the whole party… if their HP is above 50%. Why? See what I mean. It’s just straight-up worse, like literally every single thing about Vanadis.

Also, I don’t like her hat. Do not pick this class. Pick Starlancer.

Conclusion – Trials of Mana Riesz Best Class

If you’re going for pure usefulness and power, Starlancer is far and away the best choice in terms of the Trials of Mana Riesz best class options.

However, Riesz is a fun character overall and her other class choices also provide interesting and fun playstyles that are worth checking out.
