Recruitment – Fae Tactics Erisolde

Erisolde is acquired towards the middle of the game in Smaragden as part of the story.

Abilities – Fae Tactics Erisolde

Ultra Skills

Like every other leader character in Fae Tactics Erisolde gets both an Ultra Attack Skill and an Ultra Assist Skill. For Erisolde, these are:

  • Ultra Attack: Headshot
High powered shot that destroys Mb.
  • Ultra Assist: Faith
Bolsters Atk and grants True Sight.

EX Skill

Like other leaders in Fae Tactics Erisolde can use a portion of her ultra orbs to perform an EX skill. For Erisolde, the skill is:

  • Ricochet: Adds Chain to attack. (Costs 3 Ultra)

Passive Bonuses

Like most characters in Fae Tactics Erisolde has a variety of character-specific bonuses that she gets regardless of which weapon she’s using. For Erisolde, these are:

  • Encore: Can take another turn upon killing an enemy.

Weapons – Fae Tactics Erisolde

Erisolde’s available Fae Tactics weapons are the Jaeger, the Repeater, and the Sorcerifle.

Jaeger

  • +2 Range
  • Wait Skill: Aim
  • How to Unlock: Default Weapon

Review: Erisolde’s default weapon is definitely her best weapon. It has insane range (especially with the Aim skill), and when you give her a Strigantr scroll (+Movement Range), she becomes incredibly mobile. Erisolde’s other weapons are huge downgrades.

Repeater

  • +2 Spd
  • +1 Move
  • Wait Skill: Sprint
  • How to Unlock: Story mission toward the middle of the game

Review: Sacrifices Erisolde’s huge range for +1 Move and the Sprint Wait Skill. It’s just not worthwhile. Erisolde’s range is the whole reason to use her. She’s extremely fragile; you don’t want to be sending her into the front lines to deal damage.

Sorcerifle

  • Earth Element
  • 3 Round Burst
  • Drains HP Each Turn
  • Wait Skill: Exploit
  • How to Unlock: Unlocks via a story sequence after defeating the Earth boss if you’ve been using Erisolde regularly

Review: Not good. Not only is Earth a relatively weak element, but the HP drain each turn is a huge drawback. Erisolde gets up to 3 turns per round thanks to her Encore skill. That means she can kill herself in about 2 rounds purely from the passive drain effect on this gun.

The Exploit wait skill and the 3 round burst both make this a nice damage-dealing weapon, but the poor elemental typing and the HP drain really hold it back.

Traits – Fae Tactics Erisolde

fae tactics erisolde traits

In Fae Tactics Erisolde, like every other character, has 3 options when allocating Trait Points: Offense, Defense, and Special.

The bonuses she gets from each line are:

  • Offense: Headshot +Break Damage
  • Defense: Faith +Atk
  • Special: Second Encore

Since Erisolde is so heavily focused on damage and can’t do anything else, you would be insane to not max out her Offense line before doing anything else.

After that, you want to dump all your points into the Special line. Even though it’s bonuses are completely, 100%, totally useless, the Second Encore bonus once it’s complete is extraordinarily powerful. Erisolde is usually capable of one-shotting trash enemies, especially if they’re flying, and being able to move 3 times per round is undeniably powerful.

As for her Defense line, there’s nothing good about it. Just ignore it completely until level 40 when you’re forced to dump points into it since there’s no other place for them to go.

Scroll Options – Fae Tactics Erisolde

Erisolde excels at ranged damage and is incapable of doing anything else. With that in mind, here are some great scroll options for Erisolde:

  • stigandrscroll Fae Tactics Erisolde Character Guide Stigandr Scroll: +X Move
Erisolde’s movement range is extremely low. Increasing her move with a Stigandr scroll dramatically increases her overall effectiveness, allowing her to get to enemies more quickly and close the gap between enemy groups when taking advantage of her Encore ability. Stigandr is the way to go on Erisolde, for sure.
  • warriorscroll Fae Tactics Erisolde Character Guide Warrior Scroll: +X Base Atk
Erisolde relies on attack damage and increasing her base atk goes a long way. Keep in mind that it’s base atk, and not just +atk. At Rank 5, a Warrior scroll increases base atk by 10 which, for a level 70 Erisolde, is 48 atk.
  • predatorscroll Fae Tactics Erisolde Character Guide Predator Scroll: +X% damage to Isolated targets
Erisolde has the range to attack pretty much whatever unit on the map she wants, so she excels at picking off isolated targets. This scroll grants a huge damage increase and Erisolde is well-suited to take advantage of it.

Conclusion – Fae Tactics Erisolde

Erisolde is kind of a one-trick pony, but her trick is to do a lot of damage from huge range and attack 3 times per round, so it’s a pretty good trick.

Erisolde’s weapon selection is fairly lackluster. She has 2 physical elemental guns with her default gun being objectively the better weapon of the two. She also has access to an Earth Elemental gun, but it’s only useful on maps where most enemies are weak to Earth and even then, arguable.

All you really need to do is give Erisolde the Stigandr scroll that increases movement by 1/2 and have her pick off enemies around map and she’s good to go.

Because almost every boss fight features infinitely spawning trash mobs that Erisolde can usually kill in one hit and ranged attacks activated followups from melee units, combining Erisolde with a handful of melee attackers is usually the best way to burn down bosses.

Erisolde’s ultra does have a pretty ridiculous orb requirement (15), but when it is available, it can seriously chunk off a boss’s HP. I’ve seen it casually deal 1800+ damage.

Out of all of the best Fae Tactics characters, it’s hard to argue that Erisolde isn’t top-tier.
