Top 5 Absolute Best Borderlands 3 Grenades

If you’re playing Borderlands 3, you’re going to want to find some nice grenades to equip that really increase your damage output. This guide will help you do just that, letting you know the top 5 grenades that are the best, the strongest, and the most sought after in the game. These are the top 5 absolute best grenades in Borderlands 3.

5. Rain Firestorm

firestorm

Rain Firestorm, which drops off of Captain Traunt in Athenas, is one of the earliest high-quality grenades that you have access to. You want the Rain variant, because it’s basically twice as powerful as a typical firestorm. This thing not only explodes, dealing heavy fire damage to enemies, but then spawns 3 mini-meteors that land around it, further increasing its damage output. It’s not as strong as later grenades on this list, but it’ll clear rooms for you no problem.

4. Quasar – Best Borderlands 3 Grenades

quasar

Quasar is a legendary grenade that drops of Wick and Worty, the wacky Rick and Morty parody characters you find in Lectra City. What makes it nice is not only its damage, but its singularity effect that pulls enemies in. While it does get outclassed by the later grenades on this list, if you happen to find this thing while leveling, it’ll serve you well until a better upgrade becomes available.

3. Storm Front

Stormfront deals a large amount of shock damage in a huge AoE. What makes this grenade particularly good is if you combine it with the Transformer shield, it’s also a massive source of shield regeneration. You can stand in its area of effect and get healed while everything around you melts. That gives is a lot of overall utility. Storm Front drops off of a rare enemy named El Dragon Jr in the Jakobs Estate.

2. It’s Piss – Best Borderlands 3 Grenades

It’s Piss, despite its… unappealing name, gets the rank 2 spot not because it does a lot of damage, but because it debuffs enemies to take 20% additional damage. No grenade in the game can live up to the damage caused by a Recurring Hex, so even though It’s Piss does lower damage than every single grenade on this list, it gets the #2 spot because it’s the only grenade you would ever think about equipping over a Recurring Hex due to its unique debuff. For a lot of builds that have tremendous gun damage, like crit Fl4k, for instance, a 20% damage increase on bosses is often better than the grenade damage output itself. It’s Piss drops off of Sloth and Thunk, rare enemies in Konrad’s Hold.

1. Recurring Hex – Best Borderlands 3 Grenades

The Hex grenade, which drops off Sky Bullies in The Anvil, is generally considered to be the best grenade in the game. It homes in on targets and, when it explodes, it lingers around shooting homing lasers at nearby targets. It comes in several different variations that affect how many homing lasers come out. The best is the Recurring prefix, which shoots 6 homing lasers. MIRV-Tacular is another 6 laser prefix and is pretty much just as good. It’s available in Cryo, Shock and Radiation elements, and nothing comes close to it in terms of damage and utility. The only reason you wouldn’t want to equip a Hex is either if you’re playing as Moze, since the lasers don’t count as grenade damage for the Vampyr skill, or if you’re using It’s Piss for the debuff.

Anyway, that about does it for the best grenades in Borderlands 3. Be sure to check out the Games Section for more content like this and also check out the Borderlands 3 Section for game guides for Borderlands including builds, tips, best guns, character reviews and more.
