Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment for Every Character

This Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment Guide will teach you where to obtain all the best equipment for every character in Persona 4 Golden.

If you’re playing Persona 4 Golden, now available on Steam, you’re going to want to know what all of the best equipment is in Persona 4 Golden and where to obtain the best equipment for every character. This Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment Guide will help you do just that.

The vast majority of the best equipment comes from defeating the Reaper multiple times, so you’re going to want to check out the Reaper Farming Guide for more information on how to do that. However, there are a handful of equipment items that are better on certain characters than the Reaper equipment due to their secondary effects.

Protagonist – Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment

persona 4 golden best equipment main character
  • Best Weapon: Blade of Totsuka
  • Best Armor: Godly Robe
  • Best Accessory: God’s Love/Space Badge

The Blade of Tostsuka comes from killing the Reaper. It dramatically increases Yu’s critical hit rate. No other weapons on the Hero come close or have any useful secondary effects that might make them a better choice.

The Godly Robe also comes from the Reaper. It increases all stat by 10.

While most character get a lot of use out of the Omnipotent Orb, it’s unlikely you’ll want to use this item on your main character, since if you’re using a top tier Persona like Yoshitsune you’re already almost certainly immune to most, if not all, damage, making the Omnipotent Orb fairly pointless.

In fact, the versatility of the Protagonist’s Personas makes most high-end accessories redundant. God’s Love (All Stats +10) is probably the best accessory for the hero, but even that becomes useless once your Persona stats exceed 79 in any category. At that point you might want to equip a Space Badge (+6% HP recovered every round).

God’s Love is found in locked Golden Chests in Yomotsu Hirasaka. Space Badge is found in locked chests in Magatsu Inaba and Yomotsu Hirasaka.

Yosuke – Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment

persona 4 golden best equipment yosuke
  • Best Weapon: Malakh
  • Best Armor: Godly Robe
  • Best Accessory: Omnipotent Orb / Shinatobe Vow / God’s Love

Malakh is obtained by defeating the Reaper with Yosuke in the party. They grant him triple the normal chance of evading physical attacks.

However, you could make an argument that Fuuma Kotarou is better (+5 Magic) if you’re not using Yosuke’s physical attacks or skills and are exclusively using Wind Magic. Fuuma Kotaru is bought from Daidara after selling him 4 Nightmare Sands, which are dropped by Infinite Sands in Magatsu Inaba Floor 1-2.

Godly Robe is dropped by the Reaper after obtaining the Reaper weapons for all active party members.

Omnipotent Orb is dropped by the Reaper very rarely after obtaining the Reaper weapons for all active party members.

However, the Shinatobe Vow (+50% Wind Damage) may be a better option if you’re looking for more damage from Yosuke. Shinatobe Vow allows you to remove Wind Boost from your Yosuke build and still reach the +100% magic damage cap. Wind Amp + Shinatobe Vow gives more damage than Wind Amp + Wind Boost and also frees up a skill slot.

God’s Love (+10 All Stats) is another accessory option.

Shinatobe Vow and God’s Love are found in locked Golden Chests in Yomotsu Hirasaka.

Chie – Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment

  • Best Weapon: Moses Sandals
  • Best Armor: Godly Robe
  • Best Accessory: Omnipotent Orb / God’s Love / Space Badge / Rudra Ring / Chakra Ring

Moses Sandals are found by defeating the Reaper with Chie in the party. They dramatically increase critical hit rate. No other weapons come close. However, it should be noted that they look really, really stupid.

Godly Robe is found by defeating the Reaper after every active party member has already received their Reaper weapon.

Omnipotent Orb is rarely dropped by the Reaper after every active party member has already received their Reaper weapon.

Chakra Ring may be a good idea for Chie because it halves SP costs and her incredibly useful Dragon Hustle skill costs an insane amount of SP (150). Chakra Ring usually means Chie can cast this skill 3-4 times instead of just once before running out of SP.

God’s Love (+10 All Stats), Space Badge (+6% health recovered every round), Rudra Ring and Chakra Ring are all found in locked Golden Chests in Yomotsu Hirasaka. One Chakra Ring is guaranteed after beating the bonus boss in Heaven. Rudra Ring can be found in locked chests in Magatsu Inaba as well.

Yukiko – Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment

persona 4 golden best equipment yukiko
  • Best Weapon: Hototogisu
  • Best Armor: Godly Robe
  • Best Accessory: Kagatsuchi Vow / God’s Love

Even though Yukiko’s Reaper weapon, Boundless Sea, has more attack than the Hototogisu, since Yukiko is almost exclusively a mage and has weak physical attack anyway, Hototogisu’s +10 Magic is more beneficial than Boundless Sea’s higher attack power and chance of inflicting status effects.

Hototogisu is bought from Daidara’s shop after selling him 4 Love Clasps, which are dropped by Harem Dancers in the Magatsu Mandala floors 4-5.

Godly Robe is dropped by the Reaper after earning all the Reaper weapons for every active party member.

Kagatsuchi Vow (+50% Fire Damage) is most likely Yukiko’s best accessory overall since it gives her the highest damage potential for her spells. However, it’s only available in the very last dungeon and it requires you to give up Fire Boost to get its full effectiveness. Fire Amp + Kagatsuchi Vow gives +100% fire damage.

God’s Love (+10 All Stats) increases damage output less overall but doesn’t require you to build Yukiko’s skillset around it.

God’s Love and Kagatsuchi Vow are both found in locked Golden Chests in Yamatsu Hirasaka.

Kanji – Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment

persona 4 golden best equipment kanji
  • Best Weapon: Perun Plate
  • Best Armor: Godly Robe
  • Best Accessory: Omnipotent Orb / God’s Love / Space Badge / Rudra Ring

Kanji’s best weapon is the Perun Plate, which drops from the Reaper when you have Kanji in your active party. Perun Plate increases Electric Damage by +25%, meaning you don’t need any kind of electric damage boosting accessory on Kanji to get the most out of his spells.

Godly Robe (+10 All Stats) drops from the Reaper once you’ve already received the Reaper weapons for all of your active party members.

Omnipotent Orb rarely drops from the Reaper once you’ve already received the Reaper weapons for each of your active party members.

God’s Love (+10 All Stats) and Space Badge (+6% health restored each round) are found in locked Golden Chests in Yamatsu Hirasaka. Rudra Ring (half HP cost for physical skills) is found in locked chests in both Yamatsu Hirasaka and Magatsu Inaba.

Teddie – Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment

persona 4 golden best equipment teddie
  • Best Weapon: Seireiga / Shitisei Jakotsu
  • Best Armor: Godly Robe
  • Best Accessory: Omnipotent Orb

Seireiga is dropped by the Reaper with Teddie in your active party. It decreases all magic damage received by 30%.

Shitisei Jakotsu is his second best weapon, but it has +4 magic, which may be more useful overall if you’re using Teddie’s magic more often than his physical attacks or if you’re using the Omnipotent Orb, which makes the damage mitigation on hte Seireiga moot.

Shitisei Jakotsu is bought from Daidara after selling him 10 Mysterious Eyes, which are dropped by Acheron Seekers on the 7th floor of Yomotosu Hirasaka.

Godly Robe is dropped by the Reaper after receiving all the Reaper weapons for your active party.

Omnipotent Orb (nullifies all damage except Almighty) is dropped by the Reaper rarely after receiving all the Reaper weapons for your active party.

You could argue that Teddie, like Yosuke or Yukiko can get more use out of a God’s Love or his elemental damage item (Kuraokami Vow), but Teddie is mostly set up to be a support character, so the survivability provided by the Omnipotent Orb is probably more important. Still, you could equip him with a Kuraokami pin to increase his ice damage.

Naoto – Persona 4 Golden Best Equipment

persona 4 golden naoto
  • Best Weapon: Black Hole
  • Best Armor: Godly Robe
  • Best Accessory: Omnipotent Orb / God’s Love / Fancy Mini-Car / Hand-Knit Mitten / Chakra Ring

Black Hole is dropped by the Reaper when you have Naoto in your active party. It has Naoto’s highest attack power and also has a significant chance of inflicting a random status ailment. None of Naoto’s other weapons come close to it in terms of effectiveness.

Godly Robe (+10 All Stats) is dropped by the Reaper when all of your active party members have already received their Reaper weapon.

Omnipotent Orb (Nullifies all damage except Almighty) is rarely dropped by the Reaper after all your active party members have received their Reaper weapons.

God’s Love (+10 All Stats) is most likely Naoto’s best accessory overall, since it increases the damage potential of all her elemental skills, Megidolaon and her physical skills (if you chose to keep any). It can be found in locked Golden Chests in Yamatsu Hirasaka.

Fancy Mini-Car and Hand-Knit Mitten are worth a mention as well. They increase the success rate of Hama and Mudo skills respectively. Since you most likely replaced Hama and Mudo Boost on Naoto due to the sheer amount of good skills she has access to, you might want to get them back via one of these accessories.

However, both of the Hama/Mudo accessories are gotten by getting Christmas presents from Yumi or Ayane, which is probably not something you’re going to do unless you specifically want these items.

You could also make an argument for the Chakra Ring (Half SP costs), which is found in locked chests in Yamatsu Hirasaka and after defeating the bonus boss in Heaven. Reducing Naoto’s SP costs is decent, given how expensive Megidolaon is specifically, but it’s mostly useful if you’re using Shield of Justice, which has an absurd SP cost (150).
