Bravely Default 2 Red Mage Job Overview
In Bravely Default 2 Red Mage is pretty much an upgrade on the Black Mage in every way. It gets more skill versatility, it tends to have higher magic power, and its Chainspell specialty makes it the go-to sub-job for magic users right through to the end of the game.

The main downside is its elemental variety is somewhat lacking, having only access to two elements which are both among the more rare weaknesses.

Still, even with just two elements, Red Mage is rarely left without at least a neutral damage option against enemies. It also has access to two excellent passives in Magic Critical and Revenge, and HP/MP Converter can be used in a pretty broken build involving the Hellblade ability Ultima Sword.

All attack spells also have a chance of inflicting status ailments. The ailment inflicted depends on the spell element.

All spells cast are performed twice at no extra MP cost.

3	Heal	Restore 1000 HP to a target.
4	Stonera	Perform a powerful earth magic attack on a target/all targets.
5	Aerora	Perform a powerful wind magic attack on a target/all targets.
6	Healara	Restore 2000 HP to a target.
7	Magic Critical	(Passive) Enables magical attacks to inflict critical hits.
8	Revenge	(Passive) Roughly 25% chance of the user’s BP increasing by one when attacked.
9	Healaga	Restore 3000 HP to a target.
10	Stonega	Perform an extremely powerful earth magic attack on a target/all targets.
11	Aeroga	Perform an extremely powerful wind magic attack on a target/all targets.
12	Disaster	Perform an extremely powerful magical attack on a target that combines the powers of earth and wind.
13	Quake	Perform an incredibly powerful earth magic attack on a target.
14	Tornado	Perform an incredibly powerful wind magic attack on a target.
15	HP/MP Convertor	(Passive) Using abilities during battle expends HP instead of MP but at ten times the MP cost.
