Without further ado, let’s get into the Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills List.
1. Razor’s Wit – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Razor’s Wit deals 3-6 damage, moves the user forward 1 rank and grants a dodge token.
Usable: Ranks 2-4
Targets: Ranks 1-3 (Single Target)
Razor’s Wit Mastery Upgrade: Increases damage to 4-7 and crit chance to 15%. Applies a combo token.
Review: Razor’s Wit is mainly useful to get back into position if Jester is knocked back. As an attack it’s not bad. Jester has 3 attacks that deal roughly the same damage; normally you use the bleed one unless you specifically want to move your position.
2. Fade to Black – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Fade to Black deals 3-6 damage, moves the user back 1 rank and applies blindness to the target.
Usable: Ranks 1-3
Targets: Ranks 1-3 (Single Target)
Fade to Black Mastery Upgrade: Increases damage to 4-7 and crit chance to 15%. Applies a combo token to target.
Review: In my opinion slightly more useful than Razor’s Wit because you’re more likely to want to move backwards and also because blindness gives a 50% chance to miss anyone, not just the Jester.
3. Slice Off – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Slice Off deals 3-6 damage and applies a 3 damage bleed.
Usable: Ranks 2-3
Targets: Ranks 2-3 (Single Target)
Slice Off Mastery Upgrade: Increases damage to 4-7 and crit chance to 10%. Applies a vulnerability token.
Review: Of the three basic skills available to Jester, Slice Off is the one you’ll use most as it deals the most damage. The vulnerability it applies after the mastery upgrade makes it even better.
4. Battle Ballad – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Battle Ballad moves the target forward one rank and applies a strength token.
Usable: Ranks 2-4
Targets: Any Ally
Battle Ballad Mastery Upgrade: Adds a chance to grant a crit token, removes combo tokens.
Review: In my opinion Battle Ballad is Jester’s worst skill. It’s almost always better to use Harvest, Slice Off or one of the position dancing skills. A single strength token is just not worth wasting a turn.
5. Inspiring Tune – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Inspiring Tune heals 2 stress if the target has 5 or more stress. One round cooldown.
Usable: Ranks 3-4
Targets: Any Ally
Inspiring Tune Mastery Upgrade: Increases stress heal to 3. Cures horror.
Review: Inspiring Tune is a must-have skill not only for Jester’s arsenal but for your party as a whole. By having this skill available in your party you probably quadruple your odds of having a successful run. The second best stress heal, Bolster on Man at Arms, doesn’t even come close.
6. Harvest – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Harvest deals 2-4 damage and inflicts a 2 damage bleed on the enemies in rank 2 and 3.
Usable: Ranks 2-3
Targets: Ranks 2-3 (Targets All)
Harvest Mastery Upgrade: Increases damage to 3-4 and bleed damage to 3. Grants a 33% chance to apply a combo token.
Review: Harvest is Jester’s bread and butter skill. It deals only slightly less damage than Slice Off, applies the same amount of bleed damage after its upgrade, and hits two targets. It’s not a huge damage dealer but a few hits from this really soften up the enemy team. Also does an excellent job of removing block and dodge tokens.
7. Finale – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Finale deals 6-12 damage and moves the user back 3 ranks. Applies vulnerable and dazed to the user. Deals double damage to enemies with a combo token.
Usable: Ranks 1-2
Targets: Ranks 1-4 (Single Target)
Finale Mastery Upgrade: Increases damage to 10-13 and crit chance to 20%.
Review: Finale deals a ton of damage and isn’t particularly difficult to set up. You just use Solo and then use Finale. Easy. The hard part is having your team work around all the repositioning the Jester needs to do to use this attack. Personally, I’m not sure it’s worth it. If you want a heavy hitter, Hellion can do this every other turn by rotating between her taunt and her big damage hit.
8. Solo – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Solo moves the user 3 ranks forward and grants 2x dodge tokens and a speed token.
Usable: Ranks 3-4
Targets: Self
Solo Mastery Upgrade: Improves the dodge tokens to dodge+ tokens. Applies a combo token to target.
Review: Solo is a setup move for Finale and is otherwise pretty much useless. If you’re not using Finale, don’t use Solo.
9. Play Out – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Play Out moves the target back 1 rank and grants a block token.
Usable: Ranks 2-4
Targets: Any Ally
Play Out Mastery Upgrade: Upgrades the block token to a block+ token.
Review: Play Out isn’t a great skill. It’s mostly useful if your backliner gets shuffled to the front row. Otherwise, you won’t get much use out of it.
10. Encore – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Encore grants an extra action to an ally. It applies dazed and weakened to the user.
Usable: Ranks 3-4
Targets: Any Ally
Encore Mastery Upgrade: No longer inflicts weakness.
Review: Encore can come in handy when you specifically need to transfer your turn to your tank or your healer. Dazed is annoying but not terrible. It’s worth having on your skill loadout if you have room for it.
11. Echoing March – Darkest Dungeon 2 Jester Skills
Echoing March pulls an enemy forward 1 rank and then pulls it forward again when its turn starts. One round cooldown.
Usable: Ranks 3-4
Targets: Ranks 2-4 (Single Target)
Echoing March Mastery Upgrade: Each pull moves the target 2 ranks instead of one.
Review: Echoing March’s pull can definitely be useful. It’s not an amazing skill but Jester has room to customize his kit since Inspiring Tune and maybe Harvest are the only real must-haves.
