Stat Growths

(Lower is better)
HP: 11 MP: 18 SPD: 100 PA: 55 MA: 50

Final Fantasy Tactics Orator has below average growth in every area. This is not a class that you want to do an extensive amount of leveling in.

Moveset: Speechcraft

Ability NameJP Cost
Mimic Darlavon300

Speechcraft allows you to modify characters’ brave and faith values which ends up being an integral part of creating overpowered characters. Brave is responsible for the activation chance of Reaction Abilities as well as the damage of Knight Swords and fists.

Faith modifies almost all magic damage in the game. Having 03 Faith makes magic do negligible damage and almost always miss. So, having maximum brave and minimum faith goes a long way in terms of making a character extremely powerful.

Speechcraft also allows you to recruit new characters from random encounters which is… not something you typically want to do, but something you’ll want to do if you’re interested in poaching certain items.

Reaction Abilities

Ability NameJP Cost

Earplug makes you immune to Speechcraft. It’s a skill that you will never get any value or utility out of whatsoever. It’s extremely rare to encounter enemies with Speechcraft and, even if you do, Speechcraft abilities are not really that potent.

Support Abilities

Ability NameJP Cost
Equip Guns800
Beast Tongue100

These are all somewhat useful situationally. Guns are a decent weapon and you might find some value in sticking a gun on a class that otherwise isn’t capable of equipping them. Tame and Beast Tongue are both useful in terms of poaching. Outside of that utility, they don’t have much to offer.

Movement Abilities

Final Fantasy Tactics Orator doesn’t offer any Movement Abilities so there is nothing to discuss.

Final Fantasy Tactics Orator Overall Assessment

In Final Fantasy Tactics Orator is a utility character through and through. It offers no good stat growths, no highly damaging abilities. It exists for two utility purposes: to manipulate Brave and Faith values; and to assist with poaching monsters for various rare items.

Outside of that, you’re not going to find much value in the Orator class.

That about covers it for the Final Fantasy Tactics Orator Class. Be sure to check out the Games Section for more content like this and click here for more game guides related to FFT.
