Overview & Review- Yakuza Like a Dragon Homeless Guy Job

yakuza like a dragon homeless guy

In Yakuza Like a Dragon Homeless Guy is Nanba’s main job. It’s pretty much the game’s go-to mage job, and thanks to its additional magic stats alongside Nanba’s natural magic growth, it means Nanba is Yakuza Like a Dragon’s premiere mage character.

In terms of classic RPG archetypes, Homeless Guy is most similar to a Mage.

Homeless Guy learns several powerful non-elemental and fire-elemental spells that target all enemies. Thanks to those powerful target-all skills, Nanba tends to be the first character who can start fights by just deleting all enemies with powerful Essence tier spells.

Homeless Guy also learns a fairly useful utility spell called Malodorous Stench, which reduces all enemies’ attack and defense. Since Malodorous Stench is one of the few useful Character Skills in the game and Homeless Guy is a powerful class overall, it’s a nice little bonus to pick up.

Homeless Guy, and Nanba in general, is superb and is useful throughout the entire game from beginning to end.

Yakuza Like a Dragon Homeless Guy Best Weapon

The best weapon for the Homeless Guy job is the Amenohoakari no Mikoto EX EX. Like every other ultimate weapon in Like a Dragon, you get it from strengthening a weak base weapon at Romance Workshop in the Commercial District in Ijincho.

The base weapon you need for the Amenohoakari no Mikoto is the Rugged Cane, which can be bought from Love Magic for a measly 2,000 yen, or can be randomly found in silver safes in the Yokohama Underground.

In order to finish upgrading it, you’ll also need the Staff of the Five Wisdoms, which drops from the 25th Floor of the Sotenbori Battle Arena, or can be purchased from Le Marche in Kamurocho for 10 million yen.

Yakuza Like a Dragon Homeless Guy Accessory

The Yakuza Like a Dragon Homeless Guy unique Job Experience accessory is the Old Fountain Pen, which is the reward for Substory 18. Unfortunately, Homeless Guy is one of the Yakuza Like a Dragon jobs that can’t boost its experience growth to 2x, since there’s only one Old Fountain Pen available in the game.

Character Skills – Yakuza Like a Dragon Homeless Guy Job

Every job in Yakuza Like a Dragon has two specific Character Skills, which, once learned, can be used by that character no matter which job class they’ve been assigned.

For the Homeless Guy job, the character skills are:

Pyro Breath: Unleash a condensed stream of superheated stank that deals heavy fire damage to one enemy and those around them. May leave the enemy burned.

Malodorous Stench: Nanba unleashes an otherworldly stench that lowers the Attack and Defense of all enemies.

As far as Character Skills go, Nanba’s are pretty good. He gets a fire-elemental attack, which saves him from having to level heavily into the Foreman job for one, which is what all the other male characters have to do. Additionally, Malodorous Stench is notably a good skill, in a game where most of the Character Skills are mediocre at best.
